Ok! here we go. The second chapter of Caribbean Islands, Pirates, and...Vampyrs?! is ready to read!


Chapter 2

I whipped around, kicking up sand with the speed of the motion. Farther down the beach I could see a small speck of color--no, wait, two specks of color. Could it be? Were those faraway specks humans?! Even farther, out in the water, a ship was sailing away. A ship with black sails! What was the Black Pearl doing here? Was one of those specks Jack? Or had he finally taken back his shop from his mutinous first mate and marooned him on this island? Probably the former. By the time I looked back to the specks they had nearly reached the edge of the sparse forest. I rushed to get a closer look with inhuman speed, my feet barely touching the ground. I stopped barely ten feet from the first figure I had seen and crouched behind a large rock. I could now tell that one of the figures was male. Of average height (slightly shorter than my five feet nine inches), sinewy build, and possessing long black hair; hm, he was my type of guy. Too bad he seemed to already be taken. He was with a woman. She didn't seem like much at first glance, but hey, a guy likes who he likes. Her white dress (more like a slip than a dress) hung in wet, bedraggled folds over her form. She was also of average height. she was thin--not anorexic, but thin--had a tangle of long, wavy, light brown hair, as well as--it seems--a sharp temper. The two of them were bickering about some trivial matter when she stomped off into the forest. As the man stood watching her go, I stepped silently from behind the rock. I casually leaned against it as he slowly turned to walk down the beach. In my direction I might add.
