She fell into the never-ending darkness. She was cut off from the world by simply sliding into the black waters of Hell. Her hope of being saved had faded as quickly as the light had vanished from her eyes. She fell, further and further, sinking to the bottom of the black pool. The only hope she held in her heart at this time was of a quick death, but it never came. It was as if the world was too cruel to grant her that last wish, even if it was to send her away forever.
She felt cold. There was no warmth to make her feel better. She was all alone and longed for someone else’s presence. She wanted to cry, but the water would wash away her tears as if they were never even there. It wasn’t worth it. She wanted a dagger to drive through her heart to rid herself of the awful situation she was in, but isn’t that selfish? To only want to take yourself out of the world because of the way it mistreated you when it mistreats people everyday. The cruelty of the world affects everyone, but not everyone is trying to kill themselves.
The water kept weighing her down. She was too weak to swim to the surface, but she wasn’t going unconscious. She could still think and feel everything clearly. Soon, she couldn’t tell how long she had been falling. It felt like years had gone by, and she was still alive with the pressures of the water crushing her, making her want to scream, but no sound came.
The water filled her lungs, but she was alright. She was still alive and that’s when the thought came to her. She’d be down there forever. Everyone will think she’s dead. No one will care or miss her. They would only think that it was an unlucky way to die, but she wasn’t dead. She’d be alone forever, and the bottom of the world where there was no one but her.
When she had reached the sandy bottom of the dark pool, she crouched and wrapped her arms around herself. She had already forgotten what light had looked like. She knew no other emotion other than loneliness. It was strange. She couldn’t even remember what the life above the surface was like. She remembered the depression and sorrows, but there was no happiness.
The small girl lied down on the sand and closed her eyes. She wasn’t tired for she was never fatigued. There was nothing more to think for she had reasoned everything and never cared to figure out what she didn’t understand yet.
Her life never ended. It went on forever and ever, but no one knew that. She was forgotten on the surface for nobody cared enough to find her. The girl had immortality but no one to live with so she lay on the ocean floor, forever waiting for death to find her, but it never did. She didn’t mind though. She was absolutely fine living on her own now.
That’s how the life of the poor girl, Karil, is still going to this day, but you shouldn’t care. No one has cared for over thousands of years. She’s unimportant, so carry on with your life like everyone else has. She won’t care.
