cliche
to slap up some Norman Rockwell
of a boy
and a dog
Really could these days
be anything else
even here the sun
rolls over us slow
and sinister
[heavy sigh]
and apathetic teens
not yet too old for ice cream
or swear words
melt out all over the town
And is it any wonder
the sunspots burned into
our brains made us see
swimmy saucers in the night
sky

airports nearby]
