Tsunade looked up. Had the cardiogram really just beeped? It didn't look like it.
*Beep*
What the--? It had beeped!
"Sakura, move aside for a sec. I think Sasuke's alive!" Tsunade pressed her hand lightly against the side of Sasuke's neck. If she could just feel a pulse...yes!

Once again, Sasuke was plunged into darkness. Except, this time there was no Itachi; no silver entrancing path either. His senses were beginning to come to life again as well. He could tell that his eyes were closed, yet he couldn't open them. There was something cool pressed against his neck; a kunai? Sasuke flinched, then he realized; the cool pressure on his neck didn't feel like a kunai. It was someone's hand!
"Unnhh." Sasuke's eyelids fluttered. He slowly opened his eyes. Standing above him was a woman with light blond hair and a purple diamond on her forehead; the fifth Hokage.
"Sasuke!" Someones arms wrapped around his neck, and a head of light pink, citrus-smelling hair obscured his vision.
"Oof. Sakura, that hurts."
"I'm not letting go," her pink head lifted, and Sasuke stared straight into a pair of worried emerald eyes.
"Sasuke-kun, you scared me. I thought you had died!"
"Well, I'm not dead. will you please let me sit up?"
"No. I'm not letting you go!"
"Tsunade-sama, will you get Sakura off me so I can sit up?" Another pair of hands, slightly larger than Sakura's, reached down and gently removed Sakura's hands from around Sasuke's neck. He levered himself up on his elbows and sat up.
"Sasuke-kun, why--"
"Sshhhh, Sakura-chan. We can talk when we get home."

The Uchiha residence was a veritable palace of a place, settled atop a hill overlooking the village. It was also the type of building that seems larger from the inside than from the outside. Looking around in awe, Sakura couldn't help but exclaim,
"Oh my gosh, Sasuke, this place is gigantic!"
"Yeah, it's huge alright. It was quite lonely when Itachi murdered the entire clan."
Sasuke's eyes had lost the haunted look they had when he had appeared on Sakura's doorstep; instead, there was a sad, lonely look in them. Seeing this, Sakura couldn't help but feel she had to do something. Slowly, she walked toward him, slipped her arms around his waist, and hugged him.
"Sakura..."
"No, Sasuke; this time it's my turn to tell you to hush."
"*Sigh*"
The two ninja stood there for a few minutes; Sakura with her arms around Sasuke's waist, and Sasuke standing silently, patiently in her embrace. A new look, of soft serenity, had replaced the sad loneliness in his eyes.
"*Yawn*"
"Oh, Sasuke. You must be exhausted after that ordeal. Go rest. I'll be back later, and you can tell me what happened then."
"Thanks Sakura; *yawn* I prob'ly should get some sleep." With that, Sasuke stumbled off towards his room, and Sakura headed home.
