I saw Dir en grey. I. Saw. Dir. En. Grey. I saw. Dir en grey. I saw Dir en grey. *fangirl squeal* It was sooo awesome! Even with waiting in line for 4 hours and having them change their minds and not have a coat check and having our glowsticks thrown away (sdratsab!) and having a sucky opening band and horrible lighting and a terrible sound system, it was amazing~! I got into The Pit area, but then people starting pushing, and I wimped out and ran over to another corner. It worked out well, because I had room to sit (4 hours of standing hurts D: ), the people were much nicer, and I didn't pass out! Yay!! I almost passed out in the merchandise mosh pit, though. It was evil! Everyone was either trying to leave or trying to line up, but they all got stuck in this big pile, and all the people who wanted to leave got caught in it, and everyone just kept pushing like it was a mosh pit! The security people were trying to say something, but no one could hear them cos everyone was half deaf. Finally, someone yelled, "Everyone STEP BACK!" But the people who did step back just had people slide in front of them, so it sucked. But I got all pissy from lack of food and lack of sleep and exhaustion and dehydration and a little bit of claustrophobia, so when I turned around and saw that there was plenty of room to scoot back, but people just... weren't, I yelled at everyone to step back (really, really loud xd ). And they did! : D Then the room started spinning and I couldn't see, so I left my mom to buy my stuff, stumbled out of the group and sat on the floor until a security guy said I had to stand up. I'm glad I was feeling better by then, or else they would've wheeled me out in a wheelchair to an ambulance like everyone else who'd passed out. :XP:
*ahem* So, the band members... Die. I couldn't see him very well at all. gonk He was on the far right side of the stage and I was on the left side of the floor. And his lighting sucked. The only time I saw him very well was during his solo thing in Kodou. That was so cool. <3 Toshiya. I didn't pay nearly enough attention to him, because he was the second from the left, right next to Kaoru. He wasn't quite what I expected, but he is a godly bassist. He like smacked up the speakers with his bass at the end, though, which was pretty entertaining. It looked like he was trying to break it, but gently. I... don't even know. xd Shinya. Homigawdz Shinya. He was awesome, in the literal sense of the word. I never knew an anorexicly skinny man could play drums like that. He looks so frail and he's so quiet and gentle in everything he does, but... He's like another person behind those drums. He could be a show by himself. Kaoru. I have to say it. I have to say it! Kaoru is hot. Crazy amazingly sexy hot. I like his chin fuzz, and I am extremely anti-facial hair. That's how hot Kaoru is. I wasn't expecting it, either! I mean, before, I thought, "Oh, yeah, Kaoru, he's really cool, he plays the guitar really well." But I never thought, "Hoemeffgeez Kaoru is teh secks!!!!!11" like I did when I saw him. And he plays the guitar amazingly well. And he looked at my group! He was the only member who did. <3<3 If I thought I as a fangirl before, I was sorely mistaken. But I'll shut up about Kaoru now. Kyo. Wow. Kyo is just... wow. Really. He's this amazing ball of too much energy, positively bursting with emotion. He is his music. I loved his voice to DEATH before, but after seeing him sing right there, 50 feet in front of me, feeling and seeing everything he put into those words... It's indescribable. Every time I listen to a Dir en grey song now, I get goosebumps and squeal when I remember how he sang it at the concert. And he acted everything out! And he did the chest-scratching thing and the mouth-tearing thing in Machiavellism, and this super-sexy like strip-tease belly-dance type thing where he stood up on his stool, pulled his shirt the rest of the way off (it was barely on... he's not too good at keeping his shirts on xd ), and started sliiiding his pants down. (He did stay legal. ;b) I'd never thought of Kyo as sexy until then. xd ; And then he was doing the screaming and the headshaking and the crying... And during Kodoku ni Shisu, Yue ni Kodoku, he smiled while he was singing (y'know, "kimitachi wo mite warai kaesu" wink , and, well, I can describe it in no other way than "adorable" (sorry, Kyo-sama! like it or not, you're just too cute for your own good! xd ). But yeah, his vocal range is unbelievable, as is his passion. He's so... I don't think there's a word to describe Kyo.
So then, after the concert and the merchandise evilness (I did end up with a poster, a Withering to death CD, and one of the last XXL zombie Tshirts! All only $75! : D), my mom and I stumbled back to our car and up to our lovely hotel room in Little Tokyo. I loved that hotel room. It was simple and calm, we had a great view of the rooftop garden, and it had the best beds, evar. I didn't wanna get up in the mornings. xd
We started Friday with room service breakfast (pineapple juice, tea, fresh strawberries, a croissant, a danish, and a muffin). I answered the door with my pink hair still in ponytail braid things and make-up still on my face, just wearing my huge Dir en grey shirt, and I think I scared the poor Japanese man half to death. xd I loved the staff at that hotel. Nicest people. So Friday was Little Tokyo exploration day. We spent so much time wandering around, taking pictures of everything and buying all sorts of stuff. And I acquired an addiction to canned green tea. whee But then we got hungry, so we decided to try going to this vegan restaurant in Westwood. First, we drove through Hollywood and looked at all the big shiny buildings and shops (including this one shoe store with rainbow-coloured neon vinyl platforms and stilettos &3) and decided not to get out of the car to look at the stars on the sidewalks. So then we looked at our crappy map to look for the restaurant. I said we should follow Wilshire, like it said, but my mom was sure it was mislabeled, so we took Sunset Boulevard. It went on and on, and we saw like a dozen sunsets. xd The sun would drop behind one hill, then we'd go around that hill, then it would drop behind the next hill, and so on. We drove through Beverly Hills, and it smelled like flowers! The entire area! It was gorgeous. Finally, though, after leaving Westwood and entering Brentwood, we decided to ask for directions. And who was right? I'll let you guess. ;b So we took Wilshire all the way down quite a ways and found the restaurant easily. But then we couldn't find parking! So we drove around and around (and into an alley with a bunch of people shoving a black bag full of something into a trunk... we backed up so fast xd ) until we finally found a parking garage that didn't require some sort of permit. After we parked our car, we had three choices to exit: the elevator, the stairs, and walking out the way we drove in. We'd learned our lesson by then about public elevators (vomit-covered buttons, anyone?), and we thought it might be a bit dangerous to go up the narrow driveway area we'd just come from, so we thought, "Hey, we'll be safe and take the stairs!" Oops. We opened a big steel door, went up a bunch of big steel stairs, and went through another big steel door that closed very loudly behind us. And we were in a maze. There were men arguing behind a door to the right, which was pretty creepy. We could feel a breeze from outside, so we followed it, only to find that it was a loading dock with a straight ten-foot drop into that alley we'd seen the trunk-shoving people in before. There was an employees only entrance door down a hallway, and a few more doors down a few more hallways back in the direction we'd come from, including the one we could hear people arguing from. By now, their voices were getting louder and angrier, though we couldn't hear what they were saying. We kept trying to open doors, but they were locked, and we didn't know which one we'd come in through. It was just like a nightmare, and we were totally in "ohcrapohcrapohcrap" mode, trying to get out as fast as possible. Finally, we found an unlocked door, which happened to be the one we'd come through in the first place. We went down those stairs as fast as we could and walked up the driveway. I don't think I'll ever take the stairs again. gonk So we made it to the restaurant, which was incredible, and back home without a hitch. We watched sumo wrestling and home improvement shows until we fell asleep, then woke up at about midnight to look for something to drink. We wandered around the halls, looking for a vending machine, and ran into a Japanese girl looking for one too. We found it, both got our waters, and happily went back to our rooms. Intercultural relations! xd Then we watched more sumo wrestling and home improvement shows until we fell asleep again. Saturday. I woke up to the sounds of cheering and honking, went to the window, and saw all these people walking down the road with Mexican flags. We thought, "Oh, maybe it's Cesar Chavez Day or something." But it wasn't! We drove through it all, and through Chinatown (we were afraid to get out of the car with what we called "the Mexican revolution" going on, but we got lots of pictures), onto the freeway, and home! Yay! When we got home, we found out that those were immigration rights demonstrations being held in L.A. And we were there! Heheh.
Oh, and after coming through all that unscathed, we came home, went to IHOP, pretended to mosh, and I fell into a wall and hurt my back. xd
So yeah. There's my sleepy ramble. I had a lot of fun. And Kaoru looked at me. Sexy Kaoru. Heeheehee... <3

Wow, I never use this, do I? Ah well.
It's May. Wow. Really wow. A lot has happened since I last wrote in here. Except not really. We do have the good compy up and running again, we went to AniZona back in March, and... other stuff happened too, I'm sure.
Anime Expo is in 61 days, and I still haven't done anything more than buy the lining for my Fabula cape! gonk I should be working on that now. But I'm not. Ha.
I've been working a bit here and there on Part 7 of my vampire story quiz thing for the past week or two (or three?), but I'm not getting anywhere fast. Bad writing sucks. At least it has a bit of direction now, whereas the last quiz and a half was just a bunch of big, pretty words. I should be working on that now. But I'm not. Ha.
I've been lazy about keeping the tips of my hair blue. So now they're kinda greenish and icky. I should take a shower and redo them now. But I won't. Ha.
I haven't played DDR in weeks. My legs are getting all unflexible and I feel out of shape. I'll probably suck tremendously next time I play, and I think it's that fear that continues to keep me away from it. I should be playing that now. But I'm not. Ha.
The Neko-san is sick. She was puking for like 2 days straight, was breathing funny, and was walking funny. We took her to the vet last night, and he didn't know what was wrong with her. Said she might be diabetic (cuz she's so fat xp ). Gave her antibiotics and something to make her stop puking and sent us home. I hope she's okay... I should be checking up on her. But I'm probably overreacting. So I won't. Ha.
I should be working on my Japanese. I should be out checking the mail. I should be reading the stacks of manga my brother's been begging me to read for the past month. I should be thinking about what to get my mom for Mother's Day. I should be cleaning my room. But I'm not. Ha.
Now. Enough with the whining.
Monster Hunter. That's a better topic. Yes.
My brother and sister have been obsessed with that game since the day it was released. We even bought another TV and PS2 because there is always at least one person playing MH at all hours (yay for the family of gamers!). Unfortunately, the game could not hold my attention for more than a few minutes, and I was therefore nigh isolated from my obsessed family. Not too long ago, we also got it hooked up to play online. Sadly, this took up all of my prime computing time and left me with the graveyard shift. This, suffice to say, did not please my mother. So we got a router! Now everyone is happy. Yay!
But there's more!
Somehow, I found myself in on the Monster Hunter craze! I don't know when or how, but I really, really like it. I'd actually be playing it this very moment if my sister weren't playing. (We share a memory card. Rawr.)
So yeah. No one is serious about AX yet (it takes these people til 20 days before the con before they even get ideas for their costumes! gonk ) and I am still without a job, so I have no one to fund my costuming. So my life is just sorta... drifting... Thank the deity of my choice for Monster Hunter for keeping me entertained, at least.

It's official. My brain is convinced it's in Chile. So where's my popcorn...? (No, these are not stupid things put here simply to be random. There is a very reasonable and sane explanation behind it all. I think...) So, anyway, two days before New Year's Eve, we took the good compy in to get Norton updated. We specifically asked that it be back before New Year's, and they assured us it would. They told us it would be ready on the 30th. So, the 30th rolls around, and we call up. They tell us that they've been swamped, and they haven't gotten to our poor little compy yet. It will be done by the 31st. So on the 31st, we call them up. They inform us that it is being worked on at that very moment. We can pick it up that afternoon. Joy fills the household. So, we run some errands, all of them taking many times longer than they should have. (Curse you, Moosehead purchasing man! Curse yooouuu!!! stressed ) But the day rolls on, and we finally get to the computer fixy place. The time? 4:30 p.m. The neon OPEN sign is turned off. We rush to the door. It is locked. We bang on the door. No one is in the building. We read the "Holiday Hours". New Year's Eve - 10:00 - 4:00. New Year's Day - CLOSED. Some of us curse. Those of us driving nearly hit a police officer as they speed angrily from the computer fixy place. (It wasn't me... I'm a responsible driver. Even in a computer-derived rage. 3nodding ) So we return home without being smashed into anything, animate or not (this in itself is a miracle). We inform the others of the horrible disaster. The crappy computer is hooked up. The annoying high-pitched buzzing sound from hell once again fills the condo. And from this poor, virus- and spyware-infested box of... stuff, I write now. (Please, do not tell me to install Spybot or Ad-Aware. We have both. They do nothing.) I am so hoping that the computer fixy people have our compy ready tomorrow. I can't really do anything about it if it isn't, because, as I have recently been informed, I am not intimidating. gonk Anyway, I feel better after that rant. Thank you for reading. 3nodding

Yay! I made a journal!! What will I do with it? Who knows?! At least I now have someplace to post my deepest, most secret feelings and desires where everyone can see them! That or I can make stuff up and make it look like I have an interesting life... ninja
Quote: My dear journal, Today must be the best day of my life! After a 3-hour phone conversation with my fiance (who is in Paris preparing for his gallery opening) during which he informed me of the arrangements made to fly me there in time for the opening, I recevied a call from the IRS. It seems that there was an error in previous calculations, and I am now $5,000 richer!...
That's fun to write... 3nodding But my brain doesn't want to be creative anymore. So away I go. Yay for inane babbling! 4laugh
