Well, I had become sick of writing in my journal, but this just made me laugh. whee
Ya see, my gramma lives about half a block away from this really nice Italian restaurant called Val Bella where a bunch of celebrities like to eat. And yesterday my mom told me that the owner was being indicted for extortion or something and the restaurant is a mafia front.
Tonight I found the article she got it from. It explains the situation much better than I can. (From the New York Post)

The owner of an upscale Greenwich, Conn., eatery frequented by the likes of Tom Brokaw, Joe Torre and Regis Philbin reportedly claims he was extorted by the Gambino [ xd ] crime family. David Ghetan, owner of Valbella restaurant, was shaken down by mobsters including Gambino underboss Anthony "The Genius" Megale for money and property, according to police sources quoted by the Advocate newspaper in Stamford. Megale, a Stamford resident, was charged with extortion and other crimes with 31 other defendants last week in a Manhatten federal court indictment. But Ghatan said the sources were wrong about him being extorted by mobsters. "I don't want to discuss this, there is nothing to discuss. We didn't even have this phone call," Ghatan told the newpaper. One of Ghatan's ex-chefs, Joe Vuli, who worked at Valbella in the 1990s before leaving to open his own eateries, was found dead and dismembered in plastic bags last year on a Westchester County street in what police sources said appeared to be a gangland execution of the 41-year-old Albanian immigrant.
I don't know about you, but I found this hilarious (except for that poor chef). I had always suspected it in the back of my mind.

I finally decided to write in my journal again, yay! Doodley doo, wordswordswords. Hmm, what can I write about....
I was in Connecticut for a while visiting with relatives. I had to help my grandma take care of my cousins while their parents were at a funeral in North Carolina. Usually I don't get up until ten or eleven, but I had to get get up at six to drive them to school. It wasn't too bad though since I could just go back to bed afterwords. And it was kinda neat seeing the sun rise.
Now the older cousin (ChibiRibi on Gaia) is in the hospital with some really bad asthma. Poor baby. cry I'm sure she'll be alright though.
Not much else is happening except for Christmas coming up. It doesn't feel like Christmas but it's only like 8 days away! Actually, it hasn't really "felt" like Christmas since I was a little kid, but, oh well. I only have gifts for my cousins so far. I find it more fun to shop for kids. I like buying toys. whee I have no idea what to get for anyone else.

I got a new car yesterday!! blaugh Well, it's new to me. It's a 2003, but it's been all fixed up like new. 3nodding It's a Honda Accord and it's green and it makes me happy! 4laugh Yay! My old car (a purple '95 Dodge Intrepid) was getting quite crappy, but now my stepdad has to put up with it.
On another note, I'm already putting together a Christmas list in my head. Stupid stores putting out Christmas stuff earlier every year. xp

Yesterday was the first snow of the year. It feels to early for snow even though it usually snows before Halloween here. David, my brother, skipped school (I think) to go snowboarding. That means he won't be home to bother me until later than usual. biggrin
Hmm... I was going to write about something else, but now I can't remember.... Oh, yeah! My poor little dog got his hair cut recently (no, I don't mean fur) and they always cut it too short. So now he wants to go play in the snow, but he can barely even stay warm indoors! xp He's always shivering now. sad Poor baby.
If anyone actually reads this thing, could you click here and tell me what you think of my art and how much you think people would pay for it? I've been wanting to try selling art for a little extra gold. Some of it is just quick doodles, but some I worked really hard on so, obviously, they won't all be worth the same.

I've been really lazy with my journal recently. Well, I've been just lazy about everything recently.... or maybe I'm just lazy period.
I've been eating pumpkin fudge lately. I hadn't been able to find pumpkin fudge in years! I love it so much!! whee
Halloween was pretty good. I got a few extra Jack items so I can sell them when the price goes up, heh heh. twisted I also made my own OMG which I wore to the local Halloween parade. It turned out pretty nice. I love my OMG!!! xd heart
I used to have my hair dyed a redish color with blond hilights, but I got bored with it plus the roots had grown out 2 inches. So I decided to change it again. The color I picked was called mahogany red brown. But using it on my already dyed hair, well, it didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. So now I have funky bright deep red hair! xd But I don't mind. In fact, I kinda like it. Though it may make me stand out a bit in this backwater town.

I'm happy! Yay! whee I got muhself some Oct. letters and sold them so I had money to buy stuff! Yay!! I got burn biker pants, a grey puffy hat, those 70's shoes, a clown nose, a forbidden skirt and some other stuff. Also, I've decided that I'm going to sell avi art but I need to know what my stuff is worth, so please go here and tell me what you think. I've been wanting to change my avi's look and I realized my wardrobe sucks! I only have like two outfits. Nothing else matches. So now I'm buying cheap used store items for more mix-and-matchability.
*sigh* Real life is boring right now.
