**Short Stories using real Rainbow Six: Vegas matches I've done on Xbox Live!**
On the helo, I strapped on my armour and cocked my M40A1 sniper rifle. I then clenched my fingers together in a ball, making a fist, a sign to my team to get ready. My team was Delta 14; Which consisted of 4 elite, battle hardened marines. To my left sat Specialist Logan Hathcox, my demo expert. And in front of me sat Sgt. Maria Diaz and Lt. Adam Wilcom, my two main gunners.
Sgt. Baker, the choppers pilot, yelled out "Delta, hang on, we're entering drop off zone. ETA 30 seconds." I gripped my gun and stared out the side of the bird. Las Vegas had been cast into turmoil; buildings on fire, cars flipped over and the occasional bloody corpse lingering the streets. These terrorists have caused more than enough trouble. It was up to my team to get rid of them and make Sin City the way it was before. Before I could ponder any further, the green light flashed in front of my face. It was time.
I immediately grabbed a hold of the rope and slid down to the street below, move up a bit and hide behind a wrecked car. The rest of my squad mates follow shortly after. I signal Adam and Maria to take point and move through the street; with Logan covering my six. As we all advance down the dimly lit street, Adam peeks around a corner of a building and signals 3 tangos. Two talking and one on a balcony some two hundred yards away.
I order Logan to sit tight while Maria and Adam advance toward the two talking to each other using the back alleys. As for me, I take position behind a wrecked truck. Gripping my rifle tightly, I look through the attached scope and set my crosshairs dead center on the tango's chest on the balcony. Peering to my left, watching Maria and Adam take position behind a dumpster only twenty meters from the talking tangos, I signal them with a sudden hand sign. It's now or never.
I quickly peer back into my scope, the crosshairs still dead center on his chest. I hold my breath, tighten my grip around the trigger, and squeeze the trigger. The rifle jerks back while the brass bullet soars the two hundred odd yards in a blink of an eye. The bullet catches his chest and he jerks back, falling to the floor. Simultaneously, Maria and Adam open fire on the two tangos that were talking. One bullet hits one of the tangos in the head, while another hits the others' shoulder. In less than three seconds, all three tangos are sprawled on the floor with a surprised expression on their lifeless faces.
As the tango that was hit in the shoulder gets up, all five of us point our guns at him and scream at him to get on the ground. For a split second, it was just a stare off, until he decided to get smart and quickly pulled out his pistol. Just as he was about to lift his arm up, a shot echoes through the street. Adam's M8 Assault Rifle's muzzle smokes as the tango drops to the ground with a tiny groan as blood splatters out of the hole in his head. I look at the dead tango lying on the street in front of us and shake my head side to side slowly. "This is war. It's going to be Hell, and Heaven if you survive." the words of my Captain go through my head. I refocused and ordered everyone to follow me and started moving through the streets again cautiously. We've only just begun, no time to let our guards down.
