My sister complained that when she talks to her friends at school, she has to "dumb it down" so they'll understand it.
I find that hardly anyone understands me when I speak, but I don't bother simplifying my syntax ( xd ) for others, and as a consequence, no one has any idea what the hell I'm talking about.
It seems arrogant of me, perhaps, but I am frustrated at the simplicity of my peers' minds. Why do they never think beyond next weekend? Why do they have no high aspirations other than finding a girlfriend who pleases the eye and makes their friends jealous? Don't they ever look up and think about, I don't know, life? Existence? The universe, and their place in it?
Sometimes, I think I would be happy if I could just find someone who understands me.

"Be kind to unkind people. They probably need it the most." ~Ashleigh Brilliant
I know now what he meant.
Beau Gentiles - witty, sarcastic and totally hostile towards me.
Me: Good morning, Beau. Beau: Shut the ******** up.
After a few weeks of persistent politeness, pleasantness and generally being nice:
Me: *forgets to say good morning* Beau: Good morning!

Why did I have to get a name like Dang? (Vietnamese, meaning light). It's such a... clunky name. It's so ungraceful. It doesn't flow. Why couldn't I be named Adonis, or Apollo? I wouldn't mind having a name like Anais or Hammurabi or Ptolemaeus or Rekhyt or Liam, either. What I'd really like to be named is Samarkand. The syllables just drip like honey off your tongue with natural poetry!
I think if I ever have a son, I'd like to name him Hatsuharu. Yes, from Fruits Basket, but Hatsuharu means "early spring". Isn't that what childhood is? The springtime of your life, when everything is growing, always pushing up and out, always seeking, always finding? Full of light and life? If I had a daughter, I'd probably name her something like Cassandra or Persephone or Calypso or Aphrodite. Yeah, I've got a thing for the ancient Greeks. ^.~

People are always rushing, get to school, to work, get the chores done, finish homework... Don't they ever wonder about... life? The world? Don't they ever just stop and admire the beauty of the clouds? Every raindrop that falls is unique, every flower, every insect, every rock. There is only a single one of them in the entire world. Doesn't that make them awe-inspiringly, heart-breakingly beautiful? Why doesn't anyone just stop and look at the beauty around them>

People who love books will know how I feel. Imagine you are reading an interesting and intriguing book, and then...
Someone interrupts you.
Perhaps it is your mother. Perhaps it is your mother. Your sibling. It matters not. But as soon as the thread of your thought is broken, as soon as your connection to the book is broken, anger explodes through you. A moment of terrible fury which fades to irritation.
Don't you just hate being interrupted in the middle of a book?

I can't stop listening to this song. It's so beautiful! It speaks of a quiet love, a love that doesn't need to be told, a love that can be communicated with a single look that leaves no uncertainty. It speaks of love as an island of quiet in the sea of chaos that is the world today. It speaks of love as something that does not need to be reassured with words or gestures. That is the kind of love I want.

I know it's my religion, but I think I'm a little bit scared of it. Wicca offers wisdom and knowledge. With wisdom and knowledge, power. But it's too easy to start thinking that just because you have power and other people don't, that they mean less than you do. Too easy to fall into the trap of thinking ideas like right and wrong don't apply to you. Sometimes, I feel that the world would be a better place if I just slung out a few hexes every now and then. I wish harm on others. But my better side usually manages to repress these dark urges. And besides, that's what the Wiccan Rede, the Laws and Intents and the Charge of the God and Goddess are for, right? Guidelines for your moral compass. But what of black magic? What of the spilling of blood in ritual, what of the invoking of cruel and terrible gods? The tempation is always near, always so close, to plunge into that dark delightful chaos.
In a way, it's a struggle I go through every day. Just because I know more than other people, I start to think that I'm better than them. It's like my mind drifting away from its anchor. Its like losing grip. Like loneliness and hard work and responsibility and other people's problems driving me crazy a little bit at a time, each bit so small I hardly notice it, until I think that right and wrong are negotiable, that it's only certain peoples' subjective moral code that defines what is right and what is wrong.
I can only say that the Spider-Man 3 guys were right when they said "The greatest battle lies within."
