Guess what? I just got home from my black belt test, and I'm sitting here typing this in my pretty new black uniform and belt. I'm still sort of in shock, actually, but very happy.
So, uh, the point of this is....yay for me? 3nodding

So, who here reads webcomics? I was browsing a forum (for a certain webcomic) and saw one topic asking how many comics people read...well, being a guest on the forum I couldn't respond, but I was amused (and a little afraid) to see that none of them read as many as I do. So, my challenge to you, my friends (and random people that might see this): how many webcomics do you read? And if you feel like it, list them!
For the record, I read sixteen on a daily basis, twenty nine on a Mon-Wed-Fri schedule, and occasionally check the fifteen that are rarely updated. That comes to a total of 60.
Go ahead razz Beat that.
For those of you that are interested, said webcomics are:
Dominic Deegan General Protection Fault Kevin and Kell Questionable Content College Roomies from Hell!!! Wapsi Square Nukees Alien Dice DMFA (Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, but it's usually just abbreviated) Terinu Ubersoft (I think it's technically called Help Desk...) The Devil's Panties The Wotch Ctrl-Alt-Delete Misfile Darken Dark Eyed Blues 8-Bit Theatre Captain SNES Clan of the Cats New World El Goonish Shive (the first one I ever read...it's my brother's fault for getting me started!) Earthsong 9th Elsewhere Nahast VG Cats Comedity Skyfall Desperate Angels TwoKinds Two Lumps Krakow The Wotch: Cheer! (done by a different artist than The Wotch, but uses some of the same characters) Dungeon Crawl Inc. The Hero's Handbook Akaelae Campus Safari Shivae Fox Tails Catena NeverNever The Order of the Stick Drowtales Inverloch Sins (Warning: comics past this point update infrequently, or in some cases are already dead) Out of the Blue Hybrid Genesis Oh My Gods Sink or Swim Souls Through Darkness Elf Life Star Cross'd Destiny TimeScapes Code Name: Hunter Angelus P A W N (warning-- not for the kiddies. A little on the adult side, but the plot is amusing) Utukki Key to the Gate (really more of an online story with some comic-like pictures) Fantasy Realms Coyote Dance
Phew! That took longer than it should have. Anyway, if you're interested in any...Google the name or something XD Links would take me days to make for all of them.

Okay, this is a selection of my favorite funny and creative quotes from talking to people on AIM razz Just so that anyone who reads this journal can enjoy them as much as I do. To protect the people that said these, I will be naming them Person1, Person2, and Person3. You can guess who said what if you like razz And those of you who said these things, I may have fixed some quotes so that they don't reveal who said it razz Sorry.
Person1: I have RollerCoasteritis Person1: symptoms include the feeling of NeedForSpeed and a burning desire for aerial inversions
(those of you who have ever wanted to go out and say something along the lines of "is this the best you can do? huh?" to a big thunderstorm will understand this one razz and those of you who are really good at denial will understand the last sentence and why this is funny) Person1: you know, I have the strangest desire to go tempt fate Person2: Uh oh. With what? Person1: *shruggle* it's raining Person2: ^_^ Rain is pretty, how can one tempt fate with the rain? Person1: go out in it and taunt fate Person2: ^^;;; Oh... That kind of tempting fate. Person2: Um, you're aware that Fate is a cruel PMSing b***h, right? Person1: XD yeah Person1: the feeling is going away, fortunately Person1: but if I get struck by lightning later, you'll know that I couldn't help myself Person2: ^^;;; Don't give Fate ideas Person1: XD it would get me out of taking my AP tests Person2: ********! AP TESTS!
(and this was me...so there's not going to be anyone hunting me down and hurting me razz ) Hiroshi: O.o I just sneezed out my tic-tac Hiroshi: ...and if you quote that, I'll hurt you
Person2: I'm starting to develop a theory, which I shall call the Theory of Recurring Acronyms, or TRA for short. Person2: I figure that, if in order to explain a concept you must refer to more than 8 acronyms, the concept isn't worth explaining.
(For those of you who don't know what's going on here, let's just say that the printer is evil incarnate. Really. It is.) Person2: meep@meep:~$ echo "Now printer, Hiroshi just handed me the Theoretical Sword of a**-Whoop. You know what this means. You pull anything strange, and I kick your a**. Capiche?" > /dev/lp0 meep@meep:~$ Person2: AAAAH Person2: IT'S PRINTING Person2: XDDDD
(for those of you interested, you can see the screenshot here.) Person2: I repeat, this is very dangerous. If at all in doubt, answer no. If you know exactly what you are doing, and are prepared to hose your system, then answer Yes. Remove the running kernel image (not recommended) [No]? Yes Ok, proceeding with removing running kernel image. Person2: I love Linux. XD Person1: XD did it REALLY say that? Person2: yup. Person2: want a screenshot? XD Person1: hell yes Person2: I know what I'm doing, and I'm prepared to hose my system Person2: so I don't see why I can't say yes
Person1: he looks like he got caught doing something he shouldn't have been doing Person3: XD!!! Person3: XD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Person3: XD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Person1: eh...I should have known XD Person3: XD Well, what ELSE would he be doing wrong? Person1: : one of these days I'll THINK first
Person2: can I install Linux on your calculator? ^o^
Person2: Windows and I had a very poor relationship Person2: it wouldn't let me change the Start button to the Stop button sad Person2: it kept complaining that I was modifying core system files Person2: well ******** you, Windows, this is my computer and I can modify whatever s**t I want to Person2: which is why I have a penguin "Start" button right now. ^_^
(isn't this one just SO much fun, especially taken out of context? razz sorry, Person2) Person2: hot damn, less yapping more stripping

This could probably go on the end of the last entry, but it's long enough as is. The research paper, worth a test grade in AP English and AP US History that I kicked a hole in the wall stressing over?
100 on the English part (Mechanics) 102 on the History part (content, extra points for a creative cover)
xp

NOTE! Very long rant included. Do not read if you don't like woe-is-me's.
gonk First car crash today gonk
I'm fine (so no sympathy points), but the front of the car is pretty banged up..it was a fender bender in the parking lot.
And the worst part of it is the fact that I don't think it was even my fault crying The guy two cars in front of me stopped suddenly, so the guy in front of me stopped suddenly, I slammed on the brakes (with a minor sprained ankle...it's never going to heal at this rate surprised ), heard a metallic grinding sound, and didn't slow down gonk So I hit the guy in front of me, who hit the guy in front of him, who let out a stream of curses.
The good news is that the guy I hit directly is a friend, and besides mutilating his license plate and a few scratches, his car is in good shape. The guy in front of him (the one who stopped suddenly) didn't have any damage to his car, so the only car I have to pay for is the one I drive.
The bad news is that it's going to be a hell of a time paying for the car I drive. gonk My brother weakened the front bumper by catching it on the front of the garage door, so now the bumper is hanging very loose on one side, and something is wrong with the hood, meaning lots of expensive damage fixes. As for the brakes, which I am sure didn't work correctly (we were in a parking lot, for crying out loud, and I am a fairly careful driver...and if there was enough time for me to realize what was going on after I slammed on the brakes, there was not enough happening on the part of the brakes), we've had the brakes checked (because they make strange sounds) and apparantly there is nothing wrong with them. So it's my word against the mechanic's. You guess which wins.
The worse news is that this comes right on the heels of me kicking a hole in the wall crying it's not a big hole, but it's in an interesting spot. The story is a long one, and I know that it was my fault, but essentially I had a major project, got upset to the point where I wasn't exactly thinking clearly, and kicked a hole in the wall. That got me un-angry very quickly. (Actually, it wasn't until afterwards that I realized I had done it with the sprained ankle, so that's twice now that I've slammed into something hard with an injured ankle.) Oh, and there's also a dent in a different wall because my punching bag kept falling over onto it (because I wasn't allowed to put enough water in the base), so even the legitimate anger management things have managed to screw me over. So, that's three major things to pay for...and after two years of saving money (something I don't do well), I'm already in debt again.
I honestly don't know whether to scream or cry.

Guess who got sick over spring break?
What a @#$%ing waste of time of two TEN HOUR DRIVES
confused Two days of skiing, only one of them even slightly good. Then after I thought I was over being sick, I get two cold sores (at once!), an infected gum, and some sort of rash on my tongue, and developed a cough. Needless to say, I haven't been able to eat very well recently crying
[/emo rant]

Whee! Spring Break is next week! heart heart heart
...of course, that means I have midterms this week sweatdrop
...including my Latin IV midterm over some of the Metamorphoses, some of the Amores, and a whole bunch of Catullus' poems gonk Which if you aren't familiar with those things, they're authentic Latin. Very difficult. stressed
But anyway, Spring Break means that I go skiing. This year, in New Mexico, where my grandparents live. It should be fun, assuming I don't get sick or break an ankle, which the way I ski is always an option xd
So, um, wish me luck at the midterms and say goodbye because I can't get internet access all of next week while I'm in New Mexico xd I love you all!
