Is anyone NOT bored the day they first create a new web journal. Since I don't know whereas anyone actually reads these I think I am going to use it as an incentive to get me to write. Always am looking for those. I told my friend I was going to write 300 words, every day, and I haven't been doing it. But if I have a thing that resets every day, like this, maybe I will make myself.
How many words was that?
Okok it doesn' t count unless its fiction anyway. *clears throat* here goes nothing. Freewriting for gold here I come.
Nyc pushed his hands between folds of cloth into his pockets as he shuffled his way off of his brother's porch. He was going to have to walk all the way into town, and he noticed the air had a bite, now that the door was closed and locked behind him and his jacket inside on the hook. Maybe Iris will be nicer to me if I am shivering when I get there. He thought, hunching his shoulders up closer to his ears and starting down the path in an odd sort of slouch. The houses in this part of town all sat in the middle of little fields, home to all manner of small time livestock and garden vegetables. Padryc called it a farm, but Nyc thought that the wording there was a bit generous. Farms implied at least multiple cows and chickens and more than a few dozen stalks of corn. People with 'farms' didn't consider themselves to live in the city. People with 'farms' didn't pick up extra income on fishing boats a few times a week, even if they needed to they were probably too tired. Nyc straitened up and pulled his left hand back out of his pocket, letting it bump along the tops of the pickets in the next house’s whitewashed fence. It was going to take more than half of an hour to get from here to the guardhouse. "Either my brother or my girlfriend is going to have to move." Nyc muttered, out loud as he passed from that fence to the next on the road. "We can quit our jobs and move into this one, here, then we will still be able to mooch warm meals off of Isha. I wonder if Iris can make anything other than stew." The concept of him and Iris playing house all the way out here brough a smirk to the corners of his mouth, but it straighened out again when he though about how the things he had dreamed of tonight would affect that too. "I think I might be every bit as much of a b*****d as she always knew I was, just for differnt reasons." he whispered, hitting the end of the fence with a balled fist as he turned the corner and continued into town.
That's good, Toqui. Not that you're ever going to see this... sweatdrop
Is that supposed to be part way into the story, or the begginning? I figure it's in the middle, especially since it would be a bit of a confusing begginning. I think perhaps I might try typing up a story of some sort in my journal, it seems like a good way to do it. But which story line...? Fantasy, or sci-fi... I've only two that are well developed, and one fits clearly into fantasy, while the other is mostly sci-fi-ish. Any ideas? What's more, are you looking for input here, or just incentive to write? If you want input, you can add something to your signature asking people to read the story parts posted in the journal.
