Madison waved frantically when she spotted Jake all they way from the water fountain to the entrance to the theaters. She started running towards him and almost tackled him to the ground. “Hey Jake! I didn’t know that I’d find you here!” she screeched in a flirty way. “You have to be kidding me,” Jake replied with a frown. “You were the one asking me to come! Are you blonde or something?” Madison didn’t listen, but she did pull him through the entrance to the theatres. Alexa walked in also but did not notice them. As soon as Madison pulled Jake down next to her in an empty seat, she spotted Alexa and frowned. She tried getting his attention by putting her head on his shoulder but he moved away. Alexa saw Jake and Madison and waved, sitting next to Jake and sneering at Madison evilly. Jake got up and left the theatres. “I will go get some snacks… You two stay here and work things out,” he said and left but Alexa got up and followed him. “I’m coming with you if that’s alright,” she said and stuck her tongue out at Madison. Madison only glared at her and watched them leave. At the snack bar, Jake turned to Alexa. “Why are you here?” He asked her. “Madison told me to come,” Alexa lied putting her hands behind her back. “But we got in a bit of a fight.” “So she told you to come on our date?” Alexa’s heart dropped and time around her seemed to stop. Tears filled her eyes and she walked out of the theatres back to her mom’s car. “Alexa! What is the matter with you now?” Jake called out from behind her. She turned with tears coming from her face. “It’s nothing, just don’t talk to me!” she managed to scream out between her sobs. Jake sighed and crossed his arms. “Look, I don’t like you the way you like me. Madison is just way cuter, and you, I say just average.” Alexa thought her heart just fell out. Was she really hearing this? She couldn’t believe it. When Alexa turned back around, entering the car and turning the key, she looked back at Jake. “And to think I was going to ask a boy like you to the dance. Maybe it really was a mistake.” With that said, Alexa drove back to her home with Jake looking down feeling guilty. Madison sprang up behind Jake and hugged him. Jake pulled away. “Poor Jake-baby, just forget about that repulsive girl,” she said in a hateful way. Jake turned, glaring. “Don’t touch me,” he said in an angry tone and walked back to his house. *** It was already Friday at Alexa’s house. Jessie came in her daughter’s room only to find her lying on her bed glaring at the ceiling. Alexa grabbed a pillow and squeezed it. “Honey, what’s the matter?” Jessie asked. Alexa only turned away on her side. Jessie sighed and sat next to Alexa, and rubbed her arm. “It’s nothing Mom,” Alexa replied with frustration in her voice. Jessie lay down next to her and hugged her. “You can tell me anything, Alexa.” “Well Jake…” Alexa cut off and thought about what he said. Did he really think that way about her? Or was he playing another prank on her?
