I wrote this a little bit ago, and I just want to know what you people think. All comments are loved, and possibly rewarded. *hint hint*

He awoke in the night for he heard a scream. He didn't know what exactly he heard, but he heard it loud and clear. It was like a banshee morning the graves, but more human like. He grabbed his blade, was ran out the door, falling from the tree to the ground below.

It was night as I said, nearly pitch black. He could see better with his eyes closed, for he new the ground around him like the back of his hand. Every bush and every scar.

The crunch of twigs and other things snapped beneath his feet as he walked through the brush. There is was again. Only closer, much closer. And... behind him. Yes, it was coming from behind him. He was going the wrong way. He walked still with his eyes closed, for a true hunter only needed sound because shadows tend to play tricks on your mind.

He still crept silently, waiting for the sounds when it happened. A twig snap even though he wasn't the one who snapped it. Someone was with him. Maybe it was the screaming beast, or someone else. There was no time to ask questions.

He drew his blade, and walked forward still. "Who's there?" he yelled. "Where are you?" he asked. When no answer came, he grew more paranoid. "Who's there?" he yelled again, this time more of a command instead of a question.

Then came the scream. Closer still. And again. Even closer. It was infront of him... He could feel it. He plunged forward, reliving the beast of its life. He openned his eyes to discover a gremlin, and his sword with blood as black as the night all the way up to the hilt.

"Damn," he let out. "What a waste. I thought atleast it'd be something I could get bounty for..." With that he but away his blade and walked. But there it was. Another twig. Something was still out there. But what.
