Come on up and I'll adore you, with my yellow laser beam.
Gran Turismo 4 has EATEN MY LIFE.
Rat bastards on night shift got me to play it, and now I CANNOT STOP.
There's some sick-b*****d appeal in turning a Suzuki Cappuccino from 64Hp to over 140Bhp. And then whomping the hell out of other mini-racers.
Or beating the snot out of an acura NSX with a 1985 MR2, or a Lotues Elise turbo being taken down by my mighty little Mitsubishi Eclipse.
These are the things that make me giggle with delight. These are also the things that make me go "s**t, where did my day go?"
It's with this stunning realization, that I now have a new goal. Beating all those games that I picked up and played like hell for a few weeks, but never got around to finishing. The list is almost daunting.
Devil May Cry 3. - Played a bit today, actually. Forgot how ******** hard it was. (Almost there. In that annoying "Hey, let's refight all the ******** bosses" bit.)
Makai Kingdom - I'm close. Damn close. Ninja Kitty will kill all competitors.
Disgaea 2 - Some of the original magic is lost in the sequel. Maybe it's the massive changes made to the item levelling system, or maybe it's the lack of good power-levelling levels. Or, maybe it's just the evil amount of time I sank into the first one. But.. i don't have much farther to go to finish it, so.. it's going to be done.
Twisted Metal: Black - Ok, at this point, it's just unlocking all the characters and movies, really. The dark, twisted tales are usually worth the 30-40 minutes of aimless blasting that they require to unlock. The final boss is a bit of a pain, though.
Kingdom Hearts 2 - Got stuck on a boss battle, new games came along. Still need to beat that chunk and get the game finished.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness - Still have tons of weapons and armor to craft, and Innocent Devils to level up. Made the mistake of fighting Beelzebub FAR too soon, and then got lost on the return trip to the actual boss I needed to face. About 80% done when I last played, so.. it shouldn't take too long. Might get stuck with this one for a while, just unlocking and crafting like mad. smile
Shadow Hearts: Covenant - I was almost at the last boss. What's with me, anyways? Get almost done, then stop playing? It's not like I got stuck.. just new things came out and I never finish. Bah. This one was actually really damn fun, so.. It might get bumped up on the list.
Mark of the Kri - I beat the training. And then stopped, because I wanted to play other games first, then never got back to playing this one. At this point, I should just start over. The combat was interesting. I tended to get my a** kicked at first, one would guess that you get better over time.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 - Still have about 15 Characters to unlock. Problem is, it never tends to give me the characters I like. sad I still haven't gotten Warmachine, but I do have two wolvies.. Love this game, and it was an absolute b***h to get a copy of. I prolly spent enough in tokens at the arcade (Before it got shut down) to buy the game twice over... Even at the "Hoshit it's so my OMFG rare" price.
Mar Ecko's: Getting up - The last one I'm going to play, if at all. Not that it was bad, but it could have certainly used some polish on the combat front. Just has less appeal than the others.
X-Men: Legends - It was good, but I just got bored with it. Wasn't in the right mood for the game, and the control scheme was odd enoyugh to make me want to play soemthing else. At this point, I may finish it, or I may let it look at me accusingly from the corner.
Final Fantasy 12 - I lost interest after a boss battle I rather easily beat. Not because the game was bad, or unentertaining, just not what I was looking for. Later on, i'll pick it back up and give it another go, when I'm more in a "Final Fantasy" mood.
Need For Speed: Carbon - I'll beat the Tuner and Exotic branches when they FIX THE DAMN GAME. EA, it's all on you, you goddamned ********.
And lastly, Grand Turismo. Considering how my stable of cars is at 7 pages already, and I'm something like.. 5% done with the game... It's going to take a while. This will be my "Waste time" game for AGES. Much like the tony hawk series.
Not like I have a massive amount of time for all these games. These will pretty much fill up my weeks until Mass Effect ships. At which point, whatever else I'm playing will collect thick, crusty layers of dust. Bioware RPG's are like drugs for me. They consume my time, resources, and logical thought processes. I become obsessed. I will often play them through, beginning to end, TWICE, before I even touch another game. The onyl exception to this rule is Jade Empire, and that was more of a "it's my least favorite one" thing. I'm still going to do it, though. Just.. after a while. As you can see, my plate is already damn full.
