I couldn't find any cloth to wrap Lunethia in, so I just used some of my cloak...I'll be buying a new one in town anyways...
I don't think Lunethia quite understood what I was doing at first, but after I explained it to her...which was a bit difficult, she seemed to realize that it was for her protection.
Kursack is a busy city, where the people in it never sleep...There are so many different races here...humans, elfs, halflings, druids, berserkers...I was astonished at the cultural variety that Kursack held.
After entering the city, I immediately bought a new cloak and some food, then headed towards one of the more well-known taverns. After checking into a room, I tried telling Lunethia that she had to stay...but came to no resolution...so I left her with some food and drink, tied her to one of the legs of my bed, then locked the door.
The Tavern was busy at this hour, many of the men were already in a drunken stupor. I sat down at the bar and ordered something to drink. After a few good sips of ale I looked quietly around the room...nothing seemed odd or out of place, and everyone looked happy. Everyone except for one man...he was sitting close to the fire, his steele eyes darting from one man to another, with a slight frown on his face.
He looked interesting, so I stared at him for a bit longer. He wore a dark green cloak that was travel worn, and deep blue cothes underneath. He also wore glasses and his silver hair was tied back with a black ribbon. After a few seconds of staring, I noticed that he was looking at me. He raised his left hand and beckoned for me to come over to him. I stared at him and thought of what to do..."Since it is in the middle of a bar...he shouldn't injure me...and if he asks any personal questions...I'll just lie."
I took one last long drink of my ale and started to head over, luckily there was an open seat to the right of him, so I took it and quietly sat down.
"It's rude to stare at others, you know." The man said in a smooth and quiet voice. I looked up at him and replied.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude....you just seemed...interesting." The man looked me up and down, then looked me in the eyes.
"It looks as though you have been traveling...through the woods I presume?" He paused then looked at my face closely...for a reaction maybe? "Hmm, you are not from these lands... are you?" I looked at him in surprise.
"How did you know?"
He smiled and said, "From your answer..." The man chuckled and then held out his left hand, "My name is Daraunde. Sorry if I scared or worried you at all."
"Oh...umm...no. My name is..Zheonia. From the looks of it...you are an alchemist?" I said to him. "What an interesting man..."
"Ah, yes...yes I am. " He replied to me. "And how did you know that?"
"From your reaction, I guess." We both smiled at eachother and kept talking until late into the night.
"Well, I am very tired, I have been traveling all day...so I am going to go to bed now. Thank you for the lively conversation Daraunde..." I said to him, in answer he replied back to me-
"Oh...umm, yes then...you're very welcome...I'll see you around then." He looked down at the ground then stood up, he was probably about six and a half feet tall. "Goodnight, Zheonia...I am very glad that we met..." He left for his room and I left for mine. I opened the door to find Lunethia sleeping by the small pile of clothes I had dressed her with. I untied her then picked her up. "I'm sorry I took so long...good night Lunethia..."
