Park Playing
By Yve Carruthers
As I stand and watch
You two play at the park
Running and playing with glee
I wonder how it can be
That you two can be spared
Of our pain and misery
While you play games of all sort
We all wish we couldn't feel our pain like you two
All though you both are only two
And feel oh some small
You two have no idea how lucky you are
That you my be spared our pain
Of the loss of your little sister
And as I stand and watch
You two playing at the park
Running and playing with glee
I wonder how it can be
That you two can be spared
Of our pain and misery
Of course we do not expect you to understand yet
Of the loss you two have not experienced
Or of the heavy hearts we hold
So go about your day
Has happy as can be
All we ask of you is for you to know how lucky you both are
That you do not have to share the pain
For as I stand and watch
You two playing at the park
Running and playing with glee
I wonder how it can be
That you two can be spared
Of our pain and misery
