Welcome to Earth...
Part Seven: Kaede's Hut
The next day, after quite a few more Are-we-there-yets, they came to Kaede's village.

"So, you think there's someone here who can fix all of this?" Seiko asked.

Miroku nodded. "Yes. That is, unless she was turned into a child as well... In that case we may be forced to keep them and raise them as our own," he said, putting an arm around her shoulders.

"Watch it. I'm doing this out of charity, you know. I could leave you here with all of 'em. Just you and Jaken with three four-year-olds and a five-year-old."

He sighed and removed his arm from her shoulers. "Point taken. So, let's go on, shall we?"

Once into the village, they brought up quite a stir from the villagers. "Witchcraft, 'tis. First the Lady Kaede changin' an' all, an' now demons. It's a conspiracy. Not to mention that other demon that came through..."

The comment about the "other demon" puzzled Miroku, Seiko, and Jaken. There wasn't another demon around for miles that would leave a village alive... at least, none that they knew of.

As they neared Kaede's hut, they heard quite a lot of noise coming from it. Yells, curses, and the banging of pots and pans sounded from within the hut until a young woman tumbled out, quickly followed by a large pot. Her ears were pointed like Sesshoumaru's, her eyes flickered gold, and behind her was a jaguar tail. She yelled a curse at someone inside the hut, presumably Kaede.

"I think I know her..." Seiko muttered to Miroku. "I know I've seen here somewhere before..."

Another young woman stepped out of the hut. "Mangy demon! It's probably all your fault this has happened!" Recognizable only by the eye-patch over her eye, it was Kaede. Her long hair was dark, and she was thinner... a lot thinner.

"Lady... Kaede?" Miroku asked.

She turned from glaring at the demon in front of her to look at Miroku and Seiko. "Oh! Lord monk! So good of you to come!" She ushered them all inside after glancing at the miniaturized Kagome, InuYasha, Sango, and Sesshoumaru. The Jaguar demon followed, uninvited.

After explaining everything that had happened, and introducing Seiko, the jauar demon spoke. "So, Seiko-the-Psycho. Was this your fault, too?"

"Sumi! I knew I recognized you! You were my college roommate!"

"Still psychotic, I see. Rambling on about strange things like colleges... last time I saw you, you were going on about the Sun being the center of the universe or something..." Sumi shook her head, laughing slightly.

"The Sun the center of the universe? I said that? What was I thinking?"

Kaede, who was still looking rather put-out at Sumi, pushed her and Seiko out of the door. "Why don't ye take your little pow-wow outside so that we can get down to business?"

A Note: The Heliocentric Universe theory first appeared in 1543, only a few years before the end of the Feudal Era. So, theoretically, it could be possible for them to know the Sun is the center of the universe, but I always suspected InuYasha to be in the mid-Feudal Era, not the end.
