The Earth Diaries
Welcome to Earth...
Part Four: Accidents Can Happen
So there they were: Miroku, Sango, and Jaken, stuck with four four-year-olds. Seiko groaned as she sat down next to the fire. "Why does this kind of stuff always happen to me?"

"It's not so bad, at least there's three of us... if you count Jaken," Miroku pointed out, sitting next to her.

"In case you didn't notice, they outnumber us!"

Jaken sat down on the other side of the fire, muttering about "poor Lord Sesshoumaru".

"Where did that 'Seiko-the-Psycho' comment come from?" Miroku asked.

"Well, Fluffy over there kidnapped me a couple of years ago, and they decided I had the attention span of a goldfish and the IQ of a nine-year-old--"

"Seven-year-old," Jaken corrected.

"Seven-year-old. Whatever. They started calling me Seiko-the-Psycho because I was wrecking everything, trying to get 'em to let me go. But what I want to know is why did you come to me when this happened?" she asked, addressing Jaken.

"Because you're the only one m'lord Sesshoumaru showed any interest in. Not THAT kind of interest," he quickly added.

Miroku spoke up, "Why didn't you just take him to that girl that was always with you, Rin, isn't it?"

"She's just a child. Not much older than m'lord..."

"Poor Fluffy," Seiko said. "I almost feel sorry for him... oh, hello, there..."

InuYasha had woken up and sleepily walked over to them and tugged on Seiko's sleeve. "I had an accident..." he said, looking up at her.

"Eh, why don't you go talk to Uncle Miroku about it?" she suggested.

"No. You."

"Oh, God, no...."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After half an hour of trying to persuade the young hanyou to go to "Uncle Miroku," Seiko finally gave up. Miroku and Jaken were doubling over with laughter at the look on her face. She was thoroughly disgusted and had that there-is-no-way-in-hell-you-can-make-me-do-this-look on her face. She looked over at them miserably as she led InuYasha away to go get him cleaned up.
By the time she came back, he was asleep and she was carrying him over her shoulder again. She set him down next to the girls and Sesshoumaru and went back to the fireside.
"That," she said, "was THE most traumatic experience of my life."
"And might I inquire as to what m'lady is going to do when she is married has her own child one day?" Jaken asked.
"Just... don't. Don't go there."
~~~~~~~~~~

The next morning, Seiko awoke to the sounds of giggling. She opened her eyes and saw Sango and Kagome staring at her and giggling in a very girlish way.

She started to ask what was so funny when she noticed an arm draped over her waist. She immediately jumped up and scrambled to the far side of their campsite. "WHAT IN THE--?!"

Miroku jerked awake at Seiko's sudden movement. "What happened? What's going on?" he asked sleepily, his words slurring together a bit.

"Why were you sleeping with your arm around me?! Why were you even close enough to PUT your arm around me?!"

He blinked as her words soaked in through his still half-asleep mind. "Oh, uh... Accidents can happen...?"

"I'll give you an accident..." she said, pushing up one of her sleeves.

For once, Miroku had an excuse to save himself from getting beat to a pulp. "Don't set a bad example for the children!" he said quickly.

She walked over to him. "Oh, don't worry," she said. She grabbed him by the back of his robes and dragged him out of the campsite and smacked him repeatedly, the resulting POW's echoing through the trees and sending several disgruntled birds flying from their nests.
