I'm at a crossroad in my life where something unexpected happens, and one of my life long dreams is able to come into play. I have an Engineer willing to provide his services in building me a game engine which will allow me to create an Alpha of a game project I've been working on for a while.
This is wild because I would be in the process of starting up my own game studio. It's a dream I've been dying to do, but the process of it won't be easy. In the meantime, I've been calling on certain friends of mine who said that they've always wanted to work on this project with me to help out. I'm giving an estimated benchmark time of 2 to 3 years. God, I'll be 25 by then...but maybe I'll have that Alpha ready for a GDC presentation.
I'll eventually need to get more people to volunteer their services to work on this project. But until then, I need to sit down with Celes and refine the Game Interface together so that it'll run efficiently. I can tell this is going to be a several month project alone in just figuring out what the heck we need in order to get this thing to operate on the bare bones core structure.
Once I get all the legalwork done for solidifying DSD as an official game studio of some sort, I'll purchase a domain name for it and have the website run from it's own domain. In the meantime, I might work on making a mock-up and creating a subsidiary branch off my elvy.biz site to at least HAVE IT, and allow people to see that there's a gosling game studio in the process of learning how to crawl in the game industry.
