I like that several people have commented approvingly about my profile multimedia. I just like it. It also allows me to redirect the unsuspecting to fchan. To be fair, I warn them that it's a) the furry 4chan and b) generally EXTREMELY not safe for work, but I just hope that someone ignores my warnings, googles fchan, visits the link and then needs a new pair of eyeballs. Consider it a bit of a prank, because it requires mostly the victim's initiative.
No, I'm not kidding about the eyeballs. Some of the things on fchan are so ******** disturbing.
I like that I can truthfully represent myself as a researcher and to some degree a veterinary surgeon. It pleases me to be participating in the finding-out of things.
I like that I can ask questions of professors that suddenly make them terribly uncomfortable. That usually means you asked a question that they either a) don't know the answer to even though they should, or b) have preconceptions about the topic that make it difficult to answer off the cuff. And besides, it's a form of power. Yes, I guess that is kind of manipulative.
I like animals. A whole lot. They... well, they just are. It fascinates me that a dog can have such intelligence and such stupidity in the same head, for example. Rats are fascinating for their intelligence and their... solidity. (Heft a rat sometime, poke it gently, see what I mean. They're practically little oblongs of sinew and muscle with legs and a tail.) Mice, and most arthropods... are fascinating, because they are so tiny, and yet they contain life, they contain intelligence of a sort. There is a brain crammed into that little head, I know, and it's the size of a pea, but it works. And so on. Of course, I also like cuddling anything that is warm, that understands it's being cuddled, and that cuddles back. Of course, it's not limited to mammals covered in fur, but they are included in the set.
I like working where I do because I have three very pretty women and two nice-looking men to work with. Even though none of them is single. They're good company. They're nice people. And one of them, being an immigrant from a place with a culture almost totally alien to mine, fascinates me as much as Americans fascinate him. I should take him to see Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
I like that I have someone who often posts comments in this journal, which means she's reading it. I feel sorry for not being able to come up with responses to hers. But thank you. heart

I like how you have this big connection with animals. I look at them and think, "OMG! Cute!" And then I expect them to like me. Some of them do, some don't.
Someone told me that I'm more of a dog person because I liked to be worshipped. whee
I would like cats, but I think our personalities would clash.
I like to pretend that I'm crying so that I get my Samoyed's (??? spelling) attention. She's so sweet. She just belched! xp stare
I don't like it when she sniffs my legs, though, because it's a little awkward. sweatdrop xp
I think I have a good connection with her.
