Today, I decided to post a bit of a story I wrote a couple of months ago. Just to torture those who read me journal, I will post the rest of the story sporadically throughout this journal. twisted Just FYI, this is a Zelda Fanfic.
Ganon's Daughter
“How did I get myself into this mess?” I thought to myself as I gazed at the scene that lay before me. Ganon devilishly laughing, Link, knocked out and Zelda, falling to her death. I couldn’t believe all of this was my fault…
It was the night of the half-moon when the darkness clouded my beloved Outset Island. I was outside; scouring the horizon for the day Link would come back. He had only been on that adventure of his for a couple months and already dark clouds covered the Great Sea once again. Everyone that lived on the island had fallen ill; including what was left of Link’s family. His Grandmother and his sister. I was the only one still healthy left on this forsaken island.
The sickness had struck on the eve of Link’s thirteenth birthday. We were about to begin the party when we heard that Link’s grandma had fallen ill. After that night, one by one, the entire island suffered the same fate.
This night as usual, there was no sign of Link. However, when I knocked on the door to report to Link’s Grandma, Ariel answered.
“Hi, Rhiannon. What news?” Ariel hacked.
“No sign of him. Sorry.” I sighed. Ariel looked away in grief.
“I was afraid of that. Rhiannon, I need you to do a huge favor.”
“Anything Ariel, you’re my best friend.” I replied eagerly
“I need you to take Link’s boat and go after him. Before he left, he told me he was going to the Triangle islands.”
“You need me to what?!” I was surprised. Ariel never let anybody touch Link’s boat after he left with his pirate buddy, Tetra.
“You heard me. I need you to deliver something to Link. He told me to send somebody after him if he didn’t come back after two months.” She handed me a small package. “Take this directly to Link. Don’t open it or let anybody see that you have it. Now go.” And with that, she ushered me out the door. Not seeing anything else I could do, I walked over to where Links boat was moored. It was the most beautiful boat I had ever seen. The bright red paint and the workmanship on the bow made it look almost… life-like. After untying the boat and pushing it into the shallows, I climbed in, raised the sail and began my adventure north, the package tucked under my arm.
At first I had a hard time steering the small vessel. It was almost like the boat was resisting what I wanted it to do but, eventually, it gave way. By sunrise, I could see southern triangle island… and what lay beyond it. A tower soared above me with Southern Triangle Island in its immense shadow. After a quick glance around the island, I made for the tower. Maybe Link was there. After a short sail, I found the entrance and cruised in. I thought that the outside of the tower was the most amazing thing in the sea but, it was nothing compared to the glory I found inside. However beautiful it was, though, it was a great pain in the neck getting to the top. I turned the enormous key that I had found downstairs in the lock and the chains fell. I walked into the seemingly empty room.
“Hello?” I called.
“Who dares disturb me?” A voice called
“Um… Rhiannon, of Outset Island. I have come to find Link!” I called.
“You will not find him here. Leave this place.” The voice called back.
“But, surely you might have a clue to where he might be?” There was a pause
“Very well young one, defeat me in battle and I will tell you where he is.” Then I heard a loud rumbling and then the face and hands attached to the wall began to move. All I had was my bow so I took aim at the head. However, I could not see a target so I turned my attention to the hands. Each hand had an eye on it so I shot an arrow and blinded each eye.
“You are smart, my dear girl. Not unlike Link himself.” He then opened his eyes and started to float towards me. I took aim and shot him in both eyes. He hollered in agony then began to blindly pursue me. I didn’t know what else to do so I looked around for anything I could throw at him. I was lucky enough to find a bomb flower. Everybody knew how these worked. Pick it up; throw it at the target and BOOM! So that is what I did. I threw a flower into the monsters hanging mouth. There was a flash and a large explosion and then the head began to retreat back into the wall.
“Very well played Rhiannon. Although I cannot give you Link’s exact location, I will give you a place where you can get information about his whereabouts. Go to Windfall Island. Someone will help you there. And then there was silence. All I could do was go back down the tower and head for windfall.
