Last night, I found a six-inch-long praying mantis. I coaxed it onto my helmet.
And then I discovered that praying mantises can fly. Wow. It's amazing that an insect that big can actually get around. It's like a fairy, with its long body, its broad wings held 90 degrees to its body as they flap, and its mostly upright flight posture.
