Man, every time I see an advertisement for Gaia's "Nakie Day" I can't help thinking how incredibly stupid it is. As if materialism is the root of all Gaia's problems. Gaia's main problems are too many users and overabundance of assholes, two things that any 'net veteran can tell you are found EVERYWHERE in the popular hangouts of the world wide web. If Gaia didn't have fun activities like the avatar costumes and the fishing game, the few nice people who do come here would quickly leave for greener, less flamer-and-lamer-infested pastures. Without those special features, Gaia is no better than any of the other big famous forums on the Internet, and worse than some due to how far the tiny moderation team is being stretched. But the haggling over pixels? The least of Gaia's difficulties. C'mon, that's part of the charm, not part of the problem.
