"Its sunday!!" she said excitedly, her usually soft voice loud as she ran around her room franticaly. "Gah, im so excited! What am i going to wear?" she said, running to her closet. She dug through it, flinging her dlothes across the room and onto her bed. "I cant wait! I've liked him for so long!I cant believe he actually said yes!" she said excitedly, her cheeks flushing slightly.
She reached to pull out more clothes but her hnd touched nothing;she'd pulled out all the clothes already.
"Oh no!" she wailed "All my clothes are to ugly for a date!" she colapsed on her bed. "I cant go wearing any of those old scraps, I'll die of embarassment! My first date and im going to miss it because of clothes!" she sighed, then sat up. "Wait!" she exclaimed triumphantly, "I have until four! I can go shopping!"
She leapt off her bed, throwing on a pair of jeans and a light blouse, running into the front room to get her shoes. She saw a note taped neatly to the door and took it down, reading it while she slipped on her sneakers.
Rika,
me and your father are working late tonight. Dinners in the microwave, you can heat it up when your hungry.
Much love,
Mom.
Rika crumpled the note and shoved it in her pocket, getting up and grabbing her purse. She locked the door behind her and started walking towards the shops downtown.

Hikari rolled over in his sleep and fell off his couch, landing on the floor hard enough to jar him awake. He rolled over, pulling the blanket off the couch to cover his bare body. He sat up, yawning, and stretched his arms above his head. He looked around his new apartment boredly. The walls were white and bare, as was the carpet, floor tiles, cabinets, and counter tops. He pursed his lips and scowled.
"This will most definatly not do." he said to the empty room.
He got up, blanket wrapped aroung him like a toga, and walked into his bedroom. It had the same blank walls, with no furniture, half opened boxes stacked everywher. Hikari reached into a box and pulled out a pair of tight jeans and a black shirt. He slipped them on and walked to the bathroombrushing his hair as he cleaned his teeth, bothered by the bleakness of the walls.
He finished and walked back into the front room, putting one hand on his hip and staring at the walls.
"I cant live with it like this," he said to himself "Im painting it!" he determindly walked to the door, sitting down to put on his shoes. He looked at a picture frame sitting on the only furniture in the house, a tiny coffee table with duct tape on one leg, and sighed. He took the picture and held it lightly, stareing at the beautiful blonde haired boy in the picture. He was smileing, the wind blowing locks of impossibly light hair everywhere.
"Shar. . ." he said softly, sadness darkly flavoring his voice.
He slammed the pitur on the table face down and stood up. Picking his magenta sunglasses up from beside it, he stepped out onto his apartments small stoop. He locked the door behind him,and headed down the road, hoping to find his way down town to a home improvments store.
