This is the English Horn that I want... although any would do the job... as long as it works... this one is priced at $5,424...
nice, huh? heart
It's completely made of grenadilla (a very strong type of wood that comes from somewhere in Africa, although I don't know exactly where...) and silver plated keys. It has a full conservatory system (complete system of keys) including 3rd octave key, left F, and low B vent key. Accessories include a French-style professional instrument case, case cover, reed and reed case, screwdriver, silk swab, and cork grease. Not that anyone cares about all that...
Did you know that the "english horn" is not at all english? It's actually french, like the oboe and all the other instruments in that family... that's why it's called "cor anglais." The oboe family (from smallest to biggest) includes the "haversack" (I think that's what it's called), oboe, oboe d'amore, english horn, bariton oboe, and heckelphone. And the "french horn" is not french, but german. crazy how this works, huh?
