"WHERE IS THE b*****d WHO RAPED MY OS AND STOLE MY AVATAR?!" Nissa bellowed loud enough to make the ground shake and make everyone cover their ears.
"Most likely guess," Brennan said, as we all hesitantly uncovered our ears, "is that she's at Genomex."
"Where is this Genomex?" Nissa asked dangerously. "I'll do to them what they did to me but on a far greater level."
"We're about to have company," Emma said.
A split second later, a portal opened behind me. As silvery smoke poured out of it like fog, a voice said, "She's this way. Quick. She hasn't much time before he controls her."
"Nissa, analyze the portal," I said.
"Already doing so," Nissa replied. After a few seconds, she said, "The makeup seems simliar to the warpholes that Chazu has at his home and I can just barely detect my avatar's electronic signal on the other side.
"Is it safe?" Shalimar asked.
"Quite," the mysterious voice said. "However, if none of you wish to save the girl, I may as well close this portal and go on about my way."
"How can we trust you?" Jesse asked.
"...You can't," the voice replied. "For all you know, I could close off the exit on the other side before you reach it and suspend all of you between. Or, I could just be trying to help."
"Dragon, Nogard you two stay here," Adam said. "The rest of us will go after Holly and the android."
"Adam--" "But--"
"No excuses," Adam said. "It's bad enough Eckhart has the android and the girl under his control, but I do not want to see either of you get caught."
"Mom?" my daughter Shalimar said, wrapping her paw in my hand. "Stay, please?"
Looking at Shalimar, I smiled softly. Looking back at Adam, I said, "Fine. But any sign of trouble, Nogard and I will come after you."
"Right," Adam said. Turning to Brennan, Jesse, the blonde Shalimar, and Emma, he said, "Let's go guys."
"Nissa, lock onto their comlinks," I said as they stepped through the portal.
