Just got back form the zoo! It was so fun! We got there at 9:45 and spent the entire day there. At first we went to see the dinosaurs, and then we went to see the Canadian wildlife. My favorite part was the porcupines! There were 3 of them, one was 11, one was 8 and the other was 2. The baby of the bunch was so cute, he kept walking around, and he was so close that I could have touched him if I leaned over. He kept trying to climb the zoo keepers stick thing, and he even went over to bother his mother (who was sleeping spread eagle on the ground) and he made the mom talk cus he was pissin him off. It was so cool. We watched the otters swim around for a bit and even went back to watch them eat fishsicles. They hung a block of frozen fish by a bungee cord so the otters had to work for they're food and it was so neat. One couple (they're in mating pairs, in two separate tank) jumped up on the ice block and starting eating, but in the other tank the one otter was having trouble getting the fish cus his wife was preggers and didn't feel like moving. I felt bad for him but he seemed to be having fun and the block was going to melt in a while anyways so it wasn't like he was gonna go hungry. I learned so much about them to. Like did you know that if you placed a quarter on any part of river otter's body they have 500 thousand hairs, and sea otters have a million! After the Canadian wild life we went to see the African part. We saw South American cichlids (from wat I could tell, I’m not a fish expert but I’m pretty sure that's wat they were-like 99.876% sure) in with the hippos. We saw all types of primates and birds there as well. And omg! Did you know that giraffes only need 30 minutes of sleep a day! And they only sleep in 5 minute intervals and they still have their eyes open and chew their cud. oh, and giraffes can't sleep on they're stomach/side cus they'll suffocate/drown cus they're 4 stomachs need the gravity to work and wen they're no gravity they empty out into other places in the giraffe. And the skin around a giraff's neck is so tight that blood can't really leave it (I guess since they're neck is so long they need the tight skin to keep the blood from puddling at the base of they're neck). And also when hippo's poo they poo 17 feet in all directions! anyways after Africa Sab and I had a picnic in the botanical gardens, and I tried to get a picture of a peacock and I scared him a bit and I thought he was going to attack me and poke out my eyes...but he didn't he just walked away (yay for my eyes!). Then we went inside the botanical gardens to see the butterflies and all the tropical/dessert plants. After that we made our way around the rest of the zoo and saw some other really neat stuff. I took sooooo many pictures (prob over 60). It was so awesome, defiantly the highlight of my year (sad but true). We saw so many interesting animals and learned so much and I was with Sabrina for the entire day which made everything perfect! I wish I could go on and tell you about everything we saw but I’m sure that'll be pretty boring so I won't. But oh! We saw a huge boa eating a chicken. It was sweet a**! I’ve fed snakes mice before but I’ve never seen anything eat a whole chicken.
Next week we might go to Heritage Park. Every time I think of Heritage Park I think about how we all ditched Lizzie in the doctor's house. and then made fun of Erin cus there was something about a house (can't really remember what it had to do with her, but it sure pissed her off cus we kept bothering her about it.) oh and how lizzie and I found a dead snake near the train tracks and then she decided to keep it and throw it at Mark Ollinger (?) on the bus and it made him cry. lol. can't wait to go there again. ahhh how I love HP.
I got my bracelet thing for stampede, my mom only bought one tho so I’ll have to go back and get another one since I’m planning on going twice. last year was so fun, we went on all the rides and one time wen we went my brother hung out with us for a bit while he waited for his friends and he got sick on one of the rides and started throwing up in the garbage can. it was quite a pleasant moment for me since he always used to tease me about not wanting to go on rides because I was paranoid that they would break and I’d fall to my death (I’m still terrified of that, but I’m better now, I can actually go on the rides without breaking my knuckles grasping onto the handle bars for dear life). It's gonna be awesome again this year.
Anyways i should go eat something cus i'm starving.
bai!
