when deciding who is lying and who is not, look for what someone has to lose for revealing the truth. it is more likely the one that dose not gain and dose not lose is the one who is honest. however some lie out of spite, so they lie not for gain but simply for someone else to lose.
examples
1) some of my "friends" lie about me. more often than not it is for them to gain favor regarding a woman i am with.
2) ex's lie about me in an attempt to break me up with someone for a shot of there own.
3) ex's lie about me to make me miserable and have my friends and current significant others leave me.
4) "friends" lie about me because they believe i deserve to be shown humility.
now people seem to always assume that i would lie to cover my own butt, or the butts of those around me. i do not. I find no use in lying simply because if i can not admit to something ive done, then i should never do it to begin with. but if i had done something wrong or of poor choice, i should admit to it and accept my own guilt and any consequences for my actions. this is why i am truthful in things even if they were to paint me in a poor light.
If one can not accept responsibility their own actions and must lie, then they should not partake in the action that would lead to a lie. If a poor choice is made or unfortunate action taken, simply admit to it, take all consequences, and use it to better yourself. Choosing to never lie means you are far less likely to commit an act that would cast you in a poor light as a person.
