So, why is life never easy? stressed
The Nan Desu Kan's coming up in about... 4 months. That may seem like a lot of time, but in reality, it really isn't. It's all relevant, you know? I mean, when you're waiting to see your favorite person, every day seems too long, much less 120 of 'em.
I, as you might know from my profile, am a cosplayer. I may not be the best, unless I'm cosplaying Gluttony or Chouji Akimichi and the like, but I compensate. Even though I may not look exactly how the character does physically, I'm a fashion whore, and like to make my clothing as accurate as I can to even things out. So, since last year when my girl mentioned she'd like to do some Turks cosplay, after I told her I was going to be baby bald for Gluttony come the third and final day of the con, she thought I'd look pretty good as Rude, and I agree with her. Dark skinned bald men, the two of 'em. So, I was fired up, but I didn't want to be Advent Children Rude. So many reasons, but all of them petty and stupid. I wanted to be old~school, blue suit, fingerless gloves style.
I was a cheater and saw Advent Children twice last year at some completely unrelated event, 9_9 and had a jump on my kin, but at the same time, I missed a lot of the plot, as I couldn't read the subtitles either time. So saturday, one of my boys lent me his copy of teh advent childs and I got to enjoy the english version, which is a bit of a contridiction most of the time, but Beau Billingslea and "Steve Blum", you know? Chrispan Freeman's also a great actor. It could only have been better if Paul Dobson was Sephiroth. *swoon* I love that man's voice. He gave me some strawberry pocky, and I got a pic of myself with him, too! 3nodding heart Henyway, so I sat and enjoyed teh advent childs on my own couch, and when Rude walked onto the screen, I about died. (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, both times I caught it, I showed up when Tifa and Loz were going at it.) So, yeah. I've always had the desire to get my ears hella pierced up in my own unique way. Four piercings on my left ear, and five on my right. Set up that if my ears were cut off and put side to side, from lobe to conch directly above it at the top of the ear, it would be a zippered set of rings.
So, yeah. "Old Rude" had some desirable metal from what we could tell from Nomura's drawing of Rufus & The Turks, and I was totally gung-ho for the 2 and 5, but as I said, then I saw Rude slip on his fingered glove and stare into the camera...
I have this friend, as I refuse to speak of her in past tense, and she is an a ******** mazing artist. The queen of furry art, as far as I'm concerned. There are a s**t load of great artists, but she's definetly in my top 3. Anyway, she's really into piercings and she taught me a lot at the time, when I was contemplating getting preforated a few years back. One of the things she pointed out to me, first time seeing it in reality, was talon / claws. A lot of people who know me know I'm rather abo, and they've always been something to make me squirm. So, as I said, Rude walks in; Glove, Goatee, Face. His right ear has a nice tension in the lobe, probably 4, 2 gage? With an 6, 8 looking curved barbell above it. Then, you notice his left ear, he's gotten a new piercing in the 2 years that spanned the stories, and on his lobe is a ******** talon. As I said, squirmage. All my prejudice against the new s**t (stand up and b***h!) vs old school and everything else I had against "New Rude" went out the window, and my plans changed on the spot.
So, now the time has finally come to stop talking about getting pierced and get pierced. So, I commune with my friend and ask her to give me a refresher on what I should know and found out it's going to take some time to get my lobes stretched 6 gage. Reccomended starting gage for a lobe you intend to stretch out is a 10 or an 8, as opposed to the typical 14.
So I've got to get my lobes pierced as a pair, talk to the piercer, see if an 8 would be a good start after all, and give my ears about a good two months to heal. So, with October coming up, that means I might have time to get in 4 holes, but not the 8 I'll need for shizzle.
It's not that big of a problem, though. As long as I've got piercings for the right's tension and barbell, and the left's talon and stud, I can fake the funk with the seamless rings. I did a good job faking it last year for Chouji. Though I don't know WHY I didn't get the piercing done for real, as it really would save me some trouble now.
Only problem now though is money. (Oh yeah... just like last year. xd ) Looks like I'm gonna have to go to school tomarrow and see if I can steal a client or two. 3nodding
