At A Glance

Looking her over, one would find the dark girl to be rather small with hazel eyes and frizzy brown hair that takes too much time to tame. Mouse has scars on her left forearm and left shoulder that she neither talks about nor acknowledges. She wears a necklace with her dad's wedding ring on it and wears her mom's wedding ring on her right middle finger. She travels with a brown backpack and tends to wear Converse High Tops as often as she can. And, Mouse almost always has a friendly smile on her face.

Looking Closer

Meeting Mouse is one of the easiest things to do. She pretty much paves the way for you, all you have to do is respond. Mouse is incredibly friendly, a people person, quirky, and cheerful. She's a bit of a goof, or maybe more than just 'a bit', but she can always snap out of it and get things done when they need to be. She's quick, clever, and always ready to make her escape, but never without her friends.

Beyond Seeing

Underneath her happy shell, Mouse is in pain just like most other people these days. Losing her family took a tole on her, no doubt about that, but she works hard to remain chipper. Getting into a rut full of depression will do her no good, and the seventeen year old is well aware of that. While she suffers from depression, Mouse has learned how to work through it, and a big factor that helps her is her companions. Being alone never suited Mouse, though she didn't know it until she met her pack.

Before the zombies broke out, Mouse felt like she lived in a sea of nothing. Her depression eventually got so bad, she took to harming herself just to break free. She won't talk about it now, and deeply wishes she had reached out for help. Mouse felt she was just being over dramatic though. She felt she had no real reason to feel as bad as she did. Unfortunately, this led to her going untreated all through high school. She spent her time alone, making no friends aside from two acquaintances. Mouse didn't want to get close to anyone, so she didn't. Isolating herself only deepened her depression, making it harder to branch out. Before the zombies, Mouse had been caught in a vicious circle.

Her greatest fear is being alone. After she met her current friends, she knew she never wanted to be alone again. Nothing beat having someone to talk to. Which was odd, for her, to even want to talk to anyone. But, after civilization collapsed, Mouse found herself feeling emotions other than sadness for what felt like the very first time.

Mouse is fit. Not bulging muscles fit, but fit enough to be able to escape zombies. She started working out once the living started coming back. She would workout in her free time to keep her head on straight. Now, after six months, she was fit as a fiddle. That, coupled with her wits, is what kept her alive for three months. If she ever got trapped on top of a building, she just created a distraction and then ran like hell. The will to live was a very powerful thing, and for that she was very grateful. While Mouse is excellent as fleeing and diversions, she's has the worst aim imaginable. She never did have good aim, or any fighting skills.

How it All Began

Trisha began her life on January 29th, 1998. As her life started, her mom's ended. Wilma Taylor died due to childbirth complications that day, and Mr. Theodore Taylor died a little inside. The happiest day of his life was also the saddest.

Theodore loved his daughter nonetheless, and they had a close bond during her childhood. His no nonsense attitude often conflicted with her childish one, but they made due just fine. When Trisha was ten, Theodore met Mae Jenkins, a single mother, and fell in love. They married and combined their families. By the time Trisha was twelve, she had a step-mom and a step-brother. Her new brother didn't stick around long though, he quickly moved out after graduating high school and moved to New York to study fashion,

Trisha got along just fine with Mae, but she could never really be her mom, at least in Trisha's eyes. Around the time Trisha entered high school, Mae and Theodore started trying to have a child together. Tension grew between them as they experienced difficulties, and finally a miscarriage.

Theodore had been distant with his daughter when she started behaving like a teenager. Argumentative, secretive, and over dramatic, were among some of her behaviors. He was hard on her and strict, and she felt like she could never meet his expectations. Trisha was lonely; she felt isolated and disconnected from her family as the marriage unraveled before her. And, around this time, she began hurting herself. Trisha had become so numb, it seemed like the only thing she could feel was pain. Later, she added alcohol to her arsenal.

Her behavior didn't last long. A couple of months later, her neighbors got sick. They stayed home, not going to work, and feeling too ill to even bother with telling anyone. Their next appearance was at the tense Taylor dinner table. Tensions were high, no one even bothered to talk at the table anymore. When the window in the dinning room was broken, it sounded like the loudest thing in the world. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion for about ten seconds, and then Theodore was dragging his screaming daughter up their staircase. He locked them in the master bedroom and went to the window. Trisha was lowered out first onto the garage, followed by the sound of a splintering door and her dad's screams.

Trisha remained there, terrified, calling out to her dad and trying to clamber back into the room. Before she could make it up there, her bloodstained neighbors appeared in the window. Trisha turned around, jumped off the garage, and ran back into her house as her neighbors chased after he. The girl grabbed her step-moms purse, made it to the garage, and just barely managed to close the car door in time. She small electric car carried her from Arizona to New Mexico before it died on her.

In her panic, Trisha hadn't taken any supplies. She found herself stranded in New Mexico, hungry, alone, and terrified. So she started looting. Trisha met a few people while she was scavenging who filled her in on some things. Like the fact that there were real zombies. She learned that contact with the zombies wasn't just dangerous if you wanted to keep your flesh intact, but it was dangerous if she just had contact with them. Her hope that her dad had survived was squashed when she met her first survivor.

She spent the next three months driving a little blue Honda around, looting, staying alive, and wondering what to do, when she met another survivor. Trisha was in Arlington, Texas, moving anywhere she had to to stay alive, when Aki came into the picture. Trisha had only ventured into the city to reach a gun store. While she had never used one before, and hadn't seen the importance of it in her past three months, she had decided now was a good time to get one. Texas was big on guns, after all. And, in reality, it could prove to be very useful.

The girl was on top of a building when she saw him trapped in the same store she seemed to be headed to. Trisha jumped from building to building until she got to his. They escaped together, with weapons, and remained together after. After going three months alone, without a clue of where to go, she was ready for a change. Trisha offered to help him if she could tag along with him, and that was that. Aki later commented that Trisha was "Mousy", which lead to a private joke between them, later turning into her official name.

Trisha was eager to leave her solo lifestyle behind her, and found that company was the most amazing thing in the world. Her attitude changed drastically and she felt hopeful for the first time in years. Trisha -- Mouse -- went from a cold, depressed girl into someone she never thought she would be. She was downright cheerful about her situation, and as long as she kept her mind away from her loss, she was excellent. They traveled together until they met their two other companions, Dre and Jace, perfecting their happy, makeshift family.
