In Japanese folklore badgers are wild creatures that are sometimes mischievous and can change their shape. They are seen in Japan as a rice spirits that provide the grain and help the crops grow. In Europe they were traditionally used to predict the length of winter. A Badger tooth is suppose to attract good fortune. Gypsies and travelers used a badgers tooth to bring money from winning bets.
