Fading time
Sixth encounter

Kit knew from a distance what was happening to her. She knew that her long dark hair had probably become starch white when her emotions had overflown. She knew that the other her, the cursed her, had grabbed a slick black cloak and thrown it over her shoulders all the lights in the tent burst, sending the people into a panicked shrieking. She knew that her cursed self used that time to effortlessly made her way to the tank and easily let Mora out.
Her younger sister, terrified beyond all reason, had taken one look at Kit, her silver hair, and powerful eyes, and could only be grateful that her sister was who she was. Part of her curse, the part that controlled light and fire, had dim ghost lights all around her. She was sure that to an on looker in the stadium, it looked like someone had just arrived from no where and saved the poor damsel in distress. Maybe that was how Kit's other half wanted it.
"Kitani, get me out of here. I want to go home."
Mora pleaded, hugging onto her sister's split personality. Kitani was the only name her sister would answer to when she looked like this. Her usually calm blue eyes becoming more turbulent and wild. As a child growing up, Mora had never understood the change, but she did now, and she didn't understand what was so bad about it. Unless you counted the fact that Kit would never hurt some one, while Kitani seemed to have reservations about violence.
"Then we'll go home."
Kitani replied, her voice smoother and more ethereal, almost musical. Mora always felt safer when Kitani was around, even though she preferred just Kit. Kitani moved them from the ring and out of the tent, the lights continually blinking out, and causing quiet the panic. Before she knew it, they were once again in the hotel, moving through the lobby almost as ghosts, and then they were in their room. Kitani dropped the cloak from her shoulders and kicked it away distastefully, eying the room with interest before she padded to the window to watch the hordes of people that were running from the main tent.
"We are at a place of amusement?"
Kitani asked curiously, her apathetic eyes trailing after various people over the grass. Mora sat down, heavily on her bed, sure that their father would come in at any minute, roaring and spitting his rage over Kit 'acting up,' and she lay down on her side, unable to get the image of the damned snakes out of her mind. Shivering, she curled up tighter, and after a while, Kitani sat down behind her.
"They laughed at your pain."
Mora flinched at the anger she heard in Kitani's voice, and she shook her head softly.
"They laughed because they didn't know how to deal with the situation."
Kitani was quiet for a long time, and Mora wasn't sure when, but at some point, she drifted asleep to the sound of Kitani's soft voice singing.

Mora woke slowly to the sound of shouting, and when she blinked open her eyes, her father, mother and Kitani were standing int he door to the room. Her father was yelling, and Mora could see the circus members behind him. None of them looked angry, though some of them were eying Kitani's silver hair with interest. Kitani stood in the door, dressed only in a pair of loose shorts and an over sized tank top, her arms crossed over her chest and her back against the frame of the door. Her right foot was propped on the frame as well, and unlike Kit would have, she didn't hide her annoyance at being yelled at by their father.
"Unpredictable, irresponsible, do you have any idea what it's going to cost to fix those lights? You get worked up over the stupidest things! Change back now!"
He bellowed the last part, seemingly forgetting that the ringmaster stood behind him and was giving him odd, annoyed looks. Their mother sighed quietly, Mora only noticed because she saw her mothers hand reach up to fiddle with her locket, and Mora snorted before she climbed out of bed. Her movement brought Kitani's attention, and her sisters meaner half nodded to a breakfast that had been set out on the end of Kit's bed.
Mora ignored it when her father turned his attention to her, and she carefully picked up a heavily cream-cheesed bagel before she wandered over, absently noticing that Kitani must have forced her up at some point to change because she only vaguely remembered tugging on her pajama bottoms and tank top.
"Are you even listening to me?"
her father demanded, looking ready to pop a vessel. Mora stared at him blankly, trying to remember what he and said before she shook her head in the negative and took a big bite of the bagel. Kitani looked back at their father, bored look and all, then to the circus performers. She glared at someone out of Mora's line of sight, and Mora stopped next to her sister, trying to peer around everyone to see who. She failed, so she returned her attention to Kitani.
"I'm not sorry. They hurt Mora, that makes me in the right."
She announced confidently, shrugging her thin shoulders and yawning. Mora smiled. She loved Kit, but she loved Kitani just as much for her bold as brass behavior. Sure, Kit had an air about her that let you know she thought she was too good for you, but Kitani came out and said it. That point in the conversation however was probably what got them knee deep in trouble.
