Writing Sample# 1

Rynn took in a deep breath allowing her body to adjust to the burning air. Buildings crumbled beneath her feet as she desperately tried to escape what she believed were small demons that wished to take her body. She of course knew that the humans where at war from the beginning…. No one believed her though. Preparing for this moment she studied to become an exorcist for her own good. “Shepard’s of Judith come forth and shine thy light.” In seconds the ally way exploded with a blinding light which gave Rynn enough time to run off into an open street. Bending over she quickly gasped for air not realizing that the annoying creatures had yet to give up.

Looking down at her watch she quickly counted down to the sunrise. "Five, four, three, two, one." Her tiny voice called out in a hurried slur seeing that the night was much longer than she expected. Slowly the sun drenched the destroyed town with a warming light. Soon enough the monsters ran back into the shadows trying their best to find a new victim that was dumb enough to travel alone. Catching her breath Rynn stood up and walked off from the sight knowing that it wasn't a safe place to hang around. Quietly she found herself strolling aimlessly around not having a clue as what to do next. "This town is no longer safe." She said to herself not caring if she looked like a freak. Actually once she glanced around Rynn found that she was the only human stupid enough to walk around in broad daylight. It's only been a month since her home was taken over but she found it too hard to just get up and leave. This was where she grew up and even though she hated her town it was still a part of her.

"Maybe I should just head north?" Arching a brow she turned and began her journey towards what was to be rumored a safe zone.

Sample # 2

Why me? Rynn blinked her curious orbs before turning to her father who was busy with preparations for today. His narrow golden eyes reflected off the sun, it was strange when he decided to be intimating. It always reminded Lucy of a cobra waiting to strike at any chance he got, his long blonde hair acted like a rattle while his slender build matched that of the snake. It was too perfect! Giving a soft chuckle she soon earned a stern look from her father whom then turned back to the driver to give directions. Rynn loved her father just as much as her mother but there were times where he didn't quite understand that she was still a kid at heart.

"RaeLynn, do you need anything else?" Her father called as he reached up to fix his tie. He always looked professional even at home it was sickening Jeeze... really? Rynn frowned lightly before turning back to her home well, what was soon to be her old home.

"I told mother that I would say goodbye right before I left." Rynn answered in a polite tone as her hands anxiously played with her summer dress. Her mother's health had been on her mind a lot and since she wouldn't be able to care for her. There was a pang of worry every time she thought about it. There would be no more bed time stories or songs. Would Rynn forget her laugh or smile? These troublesome thoughts brought her once cheerful eyes to the floor. Walking off down the hall she came to a room with a glowing light shining through the doors cracks. Her mother was most likely reading her favorite book, Romeo and Juliet, she would constantly remind Rynn that it was something that was related to both her and Rynn's father. It was beautiful to think about truly.

"Rynn." Her mother's voice rang softly over the silence in the hallway. She always knew Rynn the best out of her seven daughters. "Yeah, mom." she said as her hands reached out to take hers. "Rynn, please don't frown, you know how much that bothers me." Giving her mother a smile she soon took her hands which had grown cold and frail with time even her once tanned skin change to a color similar to their marble floors. All that stayed the same was her mother's warm smile, in fact it was as warmer than ever now. "Mom, I promise to win. I won't fail you again." Rynn blurted out with tighten fists. A gentle hand played through her honey colored hair in way to calm the now heartbroken girl. "Sh, Rynn. I don't want hear you say such things." that was all to say at the time and boy did it hurt her mother. She wished for Rynn to be happy but was this really the right thing? "RaeLynn, I have a good feeling about this." Rynn lifted her head off her mother's lap. "R-really?" Giving a strong nod her mother than reached a shaky hand out to wipe away a loose strand of golden hair from her daughter's face. "Honey, it will be okay... I promise."

Rynn said her goodbyes and with that she was placed in the car ready for what was to come. "RaeLynn remember your manners." Her father added before kissing forehead. "I will." She said in a tired voice. "That's my girl, you'll make a great wife.... and if any man dares to hurt you, I'll kill them!" Rynn chuckled at her over dramatic father before shutting the door. It was hard to think that the next time she would return here that this place would not be her home. There was no use in crying so the only other thing she could do was have fun with this adventure. "Look on the bright side, I'm finally allowed outside." Rynn said to herself with a proud smile while placing her hands behind her head.
