My brother and his long time girlfriend got engaged a few months ago. Then they bought a house. And this weekend, we have the wedding.

It's very frustrating being up here at school while all the cool stuff is going on. I didn't get to help plan the shower. I did get to bake for it, but my sisters got to do the decorating and all the artsy crafty stuff which I usually do. And I missed it. I go home later this week, and at least I get to help decorate the venue. But it still sucks that I didn't get to do more.

Mum's going nuts trying to coordinate everything. She really needs me to keep her on schedule and on plan. The woman's a saint, but her time sense could be a lot better. She frequently says Yes to taking on something when she should say NO! I do the same, but I'm organized better.

Between the two of us, we've been asking questions about thing being done and making lists. Mum's the only mother involved here. The bride's mother is refusing to come because her daughter is getting her own life instead of staying at home taking care of her until she dies. So she's punishing them by not coming to the wedding. The bride is incredibly upset because all those things you dream about doing with your wedding and your mum are just not happening. And don't get me started about her absent dad.

So Mum wants to make their wedding as special as possible. We all do. Which is WHY I should be at HOME helping! Dangit.
