So you'll need to read Part 1 if you haven't already, otherwise you'll have no idea what's going on.
So my aunt and uncle finally told Rex and Sam about the inevitable divorce on Friday. I heard the results fourth-hand, after my uncle told my grandpa, my grandpa told my mom, and my mom told me.
Apparently, after Rex heard he started crying and yelling, and he kept saying "I don't understand. Why? Can't you just work it out?" My aunt thought that the PERFECT way to cheer him up was to suggest the idea that if they got divorced, she might get a big house with a swimming pool.
"Gee, Mom! You ripping apart my family isn't nearly as upsetting now that you're getting a swimming pool!" biggrin
Okay, sarcasm out of the way. This didn't cheer Rex up, and he just kept crying and yelling at them. Meanwhile, Sam mostly got very quiet and looked down the whole time. So yeah, my cousins took the divorce really well.
The entire thing wouldn't bother me as much if my aunt wasn't being COMPLETELY REDICULOUS. Is she that clueless that she honestly thinks her children are going to be cool with this just because she plans on taking "her share" of my uncle's money and using it to live it up until she realizes just how little she actually knows how to do? Does she honestly think that her kids are going to be super happy about her planning on marrying the guy who's obviously after my uncle's money in a month? And is she honestly shocked as to why my mom and grandparents no longer want anything to do with her?
I feel sorry for my cousins. I feel sorry for my uncle. They all have to deal with my aunt and the fact that she lost her mind first hand. I mean, she's always sorta been in a la-la-land and had life handed to her on a silver platter, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she's making these insane choices.
Whatever. I'm pretty much done with her. I have to act nice for my cousin's sake, but I have basically no interest in waisting more of my time on her.
