There is a story that is to be know, of two hearts that are so young. They grew up into fine young adults! They feel in love yet one wanted to keep the other away from the rest of the world. Sadly both hearts belonged to two different lands. Could they be together? Or would some strange force pull them apart? Well my Lad, you will have to start out just like the rest. Twis a cold winter's day when our tale began...
The wind picked up and scratched at the walls and windows of the castle. There in a room draped in furs and riches sat a Queen and a King by a fire while their child sat on the floor reading a small children’s book about a prince and princess. Bright green eyes filled with wonder looked through the pictures silently as it's parents talked of things in the court. The small child was a beautiful little with greens eyes and dark brown hair. Skin white as the snow and filled with innocent giggles.
They fire casted shadows on the wall as the moment seemed to freeze in time. Because tomorrow would start the little girls tale.
By Late morning the family was sitting side by side in thrown. The King and Queen were leaning on arms as they listened to the Noble's complain about their travels and the rude villagers on their way to the Winter court. Their child and princess Alice was humming to herself kicking her feat since they didn't touch the ground. She was short for her age of eight but that never stopped her from looking as she did.
The Queen was a bit worried that their guest of Honor hadn't arrived yet. The royal family from their neighboring land was to be staying at their winter court until spring. Her eyes flicked to Alice and she looked to one of the servants standing to her side. She cleared her throat and the servant came. "Please Take Alice to one of the balcony's that face the castle's entrance." she order and the servant nodded. Walking to Alice and asking for the girl to follow.
Alice smiled and shimmied out of her seat, walked over to her parents and kissed them both on the cheek. Then followed her servant to an upper floor balcony, wounding if she would like the visiting prince, maybe they would become friends, after all they were both of royal blood. Once Alice and the female servant where out on the balcony Alice headed over to the railing and stood on her tip toes.
Looking out at her castle’s drive and the road that lead to the capital of their kingdom, the servant left the girl to go get a proper chair or seat for her. Alice didn’t mind the absences of her servant, rathering to be left alone to wait for this exciting event to happen. After a few minutes ticked by the servant came back with two big manservants that were carrying a sofa for the princess to sit on as she waited. She ignored their gestures and stood at the railing until her small toes couldn’t take standing any longer.
Looking straight out into the day the road was quite, no sounds of a carriage or of horse hooves beating on the ground. She started humming to herself listening and waiting for some sign to the arrival of the visiting Royal family.
At sunset Alice finally gave up on waiting on the balcony and returned to the throne room by herself insisting that she was old enough to walk alone, though the servants waited steps behind her as she returned to her parents. Seeing the disappointment in his child’s eyes King Léopold gestured to one of the noble girl children to play with Alice.
Although Alice was grateful to the girl for spending time with her, she couldn’t help but let her mind wonder off into a distant land. It had only been an hour at most when the trumpets went off and the big full voice of an announcer broke the small silence between Alice and her mind. She turned to see three grandly dressed people enter the room along with some of what she guessed their own servants following behind them.
The voice seemed to echo and bounce off the walls. “Presenting King Aaron, Queen Mary and Prince Peter.”
