“I can sense the bursts of electricity that flow through your body when you lie. You see most of my powers are based on electricity.” I boasted.

The man gave up, he failed, his partner was most likely dead or dying. “He's in the broken down department store in the centre of the city, Just don't tell him I said this please.”

“And why would it matter if I told him?” I sent another large burst of electricity through his body and he lay dead on the ground.

“Thank you.” The woman walked over to me.

“It's nothing, really, I'm just doing my job.” I said as I got on my bike and rode off.

My cell phone rang and I put a receiver on my ear so I could talk without holding the phone.

“Where are you?” The voice yelled.

“It doesn't matter where I am.” I answered.

“Yes it does, you can't take a possible level 30 and his entire gang alone.” He sounded worried.

I pulled up to the department store and took the receiver off my ear and hung up. The building hadn't been used in years. It had once been the centre of attention for the city, no one could call them self a citizen without shopping here at least once. I personally have only shopped there a few times, it was closed a few years ago. I hate the thought of even coming here again. I ran up the stairs, I lost her! I lost her! Two men jumped at the me, I grabbed their heads in my hands and delivered a fatal shock. Their flesh burned in my hands and I howled. I lost her! I placed my hand on a light switch and the lights began to flicker, and go out like a flame in the wind. My eyes closed and opened again, I could see everything, the electricity flowing through the bodies of my enemies, the shock waves from their movements. I tackled a few and shocked them to death. How their screams sounded, I love it! I ran to the fifth floor and did the same to four more gang members and then when I killed the last. I felt a sharp pain cutting into my cheek.

“Now, now, I think that you should play with someone your own age.” I voice came from behind.

“Good to see that someone has some guts around here.” I hissed. I lost her! How could I lose her?

With a quick movement I pulled away from the blade and took a good look at my attacker. He wore a long white cloak with the buttons undone completely so that his scarred up torso was visible. He obviously had been injured recently because he had bandages wrapped around his lower stomach. He grinned at me, his eyes bore into me and left me with a cold feeling. I noticed one other thing about him, I've met this man before. I can't figure out where, but I know him.

“Good to see you again, Essiy.” He said as if I were a long lost friend.

“Who are you?” I kept his sword in view. There's no way I want to suffer any injuries before I get to my real target.

“My my, don't tell me that you've already forgotten me.” He spat on my shoe and smiled.

I remembered a young boy, he was always abusing the others. He was sadistic and enjoyed bullying others for no reason. Another flash and I saw the same boy on the ground in front of me, groaning. He was the boy I had beat up when I was trying to protect my friends.

“Remember me now?” He seemed to notice my flashbacks.

“I have no idea what your real name is.” I paused. “But yes, I remember who you are.”

“Fine, just call me Vengus.” He tipped the sword upwards slightly. I jumped away from him when he struck. I reached for my knives. He struck again and I blocked them, I tried to send a blast through the metal but it didn't seem to have any effect on him. I growled in frustration. I lost her! My own attack sent me flying backwards into a metal beam. I lost her, I lost her!

“Rubber handle.” He laughed. “ I remember your powers well enough.”

“What?” I gasped in pain.

“Easy, I was a member during your last attack on my gang, I was weaker then.”

“How did you know who I am?”

“There's no mistaking that symbol.” He gestured to my coat. “pity, that girl isn't with you this time.”

I threw one of the knives at him but he deflected it with his sword. I yelled in frustration. I lost her! I jumped at him with my hand in the air to grasp him so I could kill him. I was knocked to the side by his powerful arm.

He laughed.

“Tell me where she is!” I yelled. He disappeared and reappeared with my throat in his hand. I lost Her! He lifted me a foot into the air. I grabbed his wrist in an attempt to deliver another shock. This time he felt it. He dropped me onto my backside and stumbled away holding his arm in his hand. I got up and wiped the blood from my mouth.

“Curious, it appears that we are evenly matched, I cannot get too close to you or you'll cut me with your over-grown letter opener, but if you get too close to me I'll fry you to death.” I took another step closer.
I ran at him for second shot but he drew his sword and cut my leg. His movements were fast, I had to strike even faster if I wanted to get him. I hopped off a pillar and tried again only to have a cut end up on my cheek.

He just stood there as if mocking me. “I have no time for this.” He said calmly and punched me in the stomach. I doubled over in pain. Another man walked over and kicked me while I was down. It was my other target, Zexus, Vengus' right hand man. Vengus lifted his arm and I felt a huge jolt of pain. My body tightened and I screamed. It can't be a shock. Cuts began showing up all over my body. He was somehow cutting me without us even making contact. If his sword doesn't kill me the blood loss will
