Heeeeyyy. It's been a while since I've done a journal on here. >>
So here goes nothing. After all, it's finally Thanksgiving break and I just got done with one of the most excruciatingly boring/difficult term papers I've ever done. *sighofrelief*
I'm sure by now a good number of my friends are wondering what I look like. Well, here's your chance. Except I'm in cosplay so I don't look exactly normal....but it's more or less me. xD
Really I'm getting more into cosplay/photography as a combination more than ever before, especially since I'll be getting a fancy new camera for Christmas! <3 Thank goodness I can now replace my really crappy one (with which the first pic in this post was taken). xD
These are a couple of my most recent cosplays. And I will say, I feel I've come a long way from when I first started cosplaying in 2005.....I was really.....not too good at it back then (even though I still have a loooonnng way to go). I'll just post a few pictures, since I don't really have any good solo pictures of my gijinka Dragonair cosplay. Too bad too, since I made that one by hand. ><; Well if anything ends up coming up on that one, it'll most likely appear first on my DA account. ^^
Sooooo...........*awkward laugh*
(I hope the images show up right. Lately the whole image-posting thing has given me issues. If they don't show up, let me know? <:3 )
The first cosplay here is of Yuuki Kuran from Vampire Knight. She was a fun cosplay, and quite comfy, despite being a little bulky with the thick blazer. This cosplay was bought, but the scythe (which is approximately 7-8 pounds, 7 feet tall) was made completely by yours truly. It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end. <3 I hope you all like. :'D
(And I'd also like to let you all know that yes, this picture is heavily photoshopped so my skin isn't even half that perfect in real life. xD The second cosplay [picture after this one] is more what I look like without the heavy-duty photo edits.)
Aaaannnd......here's the other one I'm posting up. ^^ I'm enthralled by how the photos from this shoot turned out! My photographer was simply AMAZING. She's so talented!
As you can see, this is just Lolita fashion. And I looooveee Lolita fashion. I wouldn't be wearing it if I didn't like it though....derp. xD This outfit was bought, since I don't have the time nor the skill level high enough yet to make stuff like this. Furthering my skills takes time, eheheh. ^^;; Anyways, I just love the pictures from this shoot! I'm posting only four of them (there's like 50 total hahaha), and it's torture that I have to choose just those. xDDD Someone stop me, I don't want an inflated ego. O.o *smacksherself* >w>;
I'll admit it was a bit of pain in my feet after walking around in three-inch heels for 12 hours, but it was well worth it. :3
For anyone curious, here is the website of the photographer.
And for anyone who wants to see more photos of either of these two cosplays, you can visit my DA page here.
So that's it for pictures for now. =) Though I'll probably go camera crazy once I get my Christmas gift(s?). xD
I'll most likely be posting about future cosplays soon, but we'll have to see. In my queue so far:
- Rikku from FFX-2. Yes, the thief outfit. I have to stay in shape. ^^;
- Another gijinka Pokemon possibly. Undecided still.
- A secret cosplay which I'll not be revealing until next year's con is over. It's gonna be a big summer project for me.
There are a few more, including at least two or three ballgowns I want to start working on soon.....but I have to wait until I can get my hands on a good dressform (I need a lot of cash for that). And enough time/money to get started on these projects. 500 pounds of tulle, here I come. xD
That's it for this journal entry! And boy that was a chunker. I need to stop drinking Kool-Aid, hahaha. x] Hope you enjoyed reading this, and have a lovely day~! <3
And, of course comments are always lovely, so drop my entry a comment if you have the time....? :'D
