Let me just start of by saying that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (Part 1) was absolutely amazing, especially in IMAX theater. I was probably the best movie so far. Going to the premiere at midnight was a really cool experience, like it always is. I felt a bit under dressed next to all the people who had wizarding robes on. At least we got a free Butterbeer at Navy Pier for being first in line to get the tickets. We grabbed our drinks before the movie and it is now one of my favorite drinks.
The perk of going to IMAX is the seats are assigned, so there is no waiting in line for 5 hours (I usually wait that long at the premieres- it's part of the fun). The screen was the biggest screen I ever saw and I don't think I'm going anywhere less for the final film this Spring.
Anyways, the movie was awesome and stuck to the original story plot, except at two points:
1. In the film, Hedwig gave the "real" Harry away when they were leaving the Dursley's house instead of him casting his chosen spell, "Expelliarmus."
2. In the film, instead of Ron destroying the locket before Harry comes to, Harry opens it and a giant boggart comes out and shows Ron how Harry and Hermione are in a relationship.
I thought the boggart part was unnecessary and it seems as though the director is trying to keep up with the romance in the Twilight series.
