well, i finally came to a conclusion about identity.
thing is, people try so hard to define themselves and self-identify, because they are trying to satisfy a fear. a fear of not existing. because if you are not who you think you are, who are you? if you don't know who you are, are you anybody at all? do you exist if you have no identity?
i have theorized identity in my search to understand who i am, myself. i have theorized that perhaps identity is merely Name and Occupation. i have theorized that perhaps identity is a series of masks we wear in different situations. i have theorized that perhaps identity is some kind of collaborative symptom of Mind, Body, and Soul.
but i have come to understand that these are all impersonal matters. the effort to self-identify is made targeting those outside the Self, despite the Self being the Subject. identity is a form of telling others that you are a set of traits and qualities. but to give anything a trait or quality is only to deny it another. it dehumanizes us. we are Unlimited Beings.
when we are truely satisfied with being ourselves we do not even think about identifying. we don't need identity to Be. we just Are. and we are only Whole, Complete, Entire, when we acknowledge our Limitless Potential.
