Sento CHPTR 3
CHAPTER #3
Kai had just left her house. She was walking slowly, she sort of wanted to say goodbye to her few friends, but they would probably forget about her right away after she left anyway, she hadn’t talked to them in a while. She decided against it and went to the trees to meet Katsumi.
“Are you ready to go?” He asked.
She nodded and they climbed the trees to the top of the wall. She felt strong Déjà vu when she reached the top and felt sick when she looked down. Katsumi looked over at her.
“What’s wrong,” He taunted, “are you chickening out already? If you want I can carry you down.”
She growled a warning at him and set her gold eyes on the Uden guard at the bottom, he was walking back and forth and sighing boredly every once and while. Katsumi jumped down quietly and landed on his feet. He quickly sliced the guard in half with his sword and called up to Kai. She saw the blood and felt light-headed. Their blood was dark green and slightly thicker than humans, but she still threw up and passed out.
She was falling to the ground and that would’ve been her death, but Katsumi ran and caught her perfectly.
“C’mon, Kai,” He slapped her face gently a few times but she didn’t wake up. Wow, she’s pretty cute when she’s not all vicious and stuff . . . He suddenly felt overwhelming feelings flowing through him. She can’t die now, we just started . . . why isn’t she waking up? He put her down and pushed on her stomach and she slowly came to.
“Wha-what happened?” She said sadly. “Why are you crying Katsumi!?”
He quickly rubbed his eyes and was about to say something when another Uden came around the corner and screamed at the sight of his dead comrade and the two humans sitting there calmly.
“I call this one,” Kai said, “this’ll be my first kill!”
The Uden raised his gun and started shooting. Kai dodged the bullets easily, drew her arrow, and shot him in the forehead. This time she didn’t pass out.
*************
They had killed most of the guards in the area. And they had finally reached area 5.6. They climbed the wall with little difficulty, but when they got in . . . Katsumi’s eyes widened to spheres.
“W-what happened here!?” He screamed.
Katsumi fell to his knees and started sobbing. Kai was staring in shock. She had never seen so many dead bodies. It seemed like the whole area had been completely wiped out.
“W-who t-t-the hell w-ould do t-this!?” Katsumi whispered through sobs.
He suddenly stood up and ran toward his house. Kai ran after him, not sure what they would find. They ran silently except for Katsumi’s crying. When they reached the house, Kai wanted to stop him from going in, positive of what they would find. He slammed open the door and froze. A young girl, about 6, with silver hair stained with blood and a 16-year-old boy with spiky silver hair lay on the ground, the boy had something in his back pocket. Katsumi couldn’t stop the tears, they flowed like rivers, but he didn’t collapse or sob. He put his head down so that his hair covered his eyes again, just like before. Kai felt the tears whell up too, even though she never knew these people, she felt so much grief for them. She walked over to the boy and took something out of his back pocket. It was a letter addressed to ‘Little Brother’. Kai walked over to Katsumi slowly. She was scared to say something, for there was nothing she could do to ease the pain he was in.
“First they kill my parents,” muttered Katsumi, “Then they take away my freedom, then they take away the rest of my family and my friends. What more do they want from me!?”
“I think this letter is for you,” Kai said gently as she held out the blood-stained paper, “it was in his back pocket.”
Katsumi looked up at her with a crushed expression. He felt like he was literally going to fall apart. He took the letter with shaky hands and read it.
“My brother was expecting this to happen,” Katsumi cried, “He knew that area 5.6 would be destroyed because everyone here was a member of Sento and knew too much. He sent me away just to save me . . .” Katsumi hugged Kai tightly. She hugged him back.
“Kai . . . ?”
“Yes Katsumi?”
“I’m going to destroy every one of those Udens!”
