This game I have beaten once, and I will only play it once. I found this game in a bargain bin at gamestop for ten bucks, and I still feel like I should get my money back. Or at least 6 of my dollars, because I feel cheated. So let's just jump into it already. This is The Darkness.
Well this game starts off with some guy named Eddie Estacado that amazingly talks you don't see that much in modern FPS games. If you can't tell by the name hes a hit man for the mafia, and on his 21st birthday his uncle( yes his uncle not godfather I was disappointed myself) wants him dead. If that wasn't bad enough something called The Darkness awakes in him. Which amazingly does not really mutate him you wanna know what happens. Black licorice ropes come out of his back. Yep thats it. No awesome mutation just licorice spouting out of his back Yet I have to give this game credit. The voice acting is really good. Even thou it really doesn't match the horrible face animations. Who ever plays the voice of The Darkness was an awesome choice. With that said the story sucks, the ending anticlimactic, a game that takes most of it's time in a subway in New York , a very limier paths, the fact that if you don't have your licorice ropes out you can't take more then a few shots until your dead, and a very bad decision NO HEALTH BAR. God I hate the fact that you don't have anymore health meters. They were a great idea before why did they have to get rid of them.
