If I had a dog I would hold it tight.
I would let it sleep with me in bed.
If I had a dog it would never bite.
It would roll and laugh and play instead.
If I had a dog it would eat at the table
and help me clean my plate.
If I had a dog it would tell me fables.
Instead of sleeping we'd stay up late.
If I had a dog i'd go to school.
So I could give him all his shots.
If I had a dog he'd think i was cool
for saving him from blood clots.
But I don't have a dog.
No not anymore.
His heart got clogged.
So he sleeps forever more.
