I could tell you all of my ideas or I couldn't. So want to hear? Well of course you do. No one reads my junk anyway, so I'm thinking that I should tell you, oh obsolete online journal, about my Engineered idea. No, not a story about some guy who wants to learn how to fix trains and yadda yadda. How could you suspect me to be so...so boring!? All right enough teasing. I think I'll tell you in serious terms, no funny business:
Engineered is about the lives of four extraordinary girls named Beth, Molly, Charlotte, and Lucy. They were not extraordinary to begin with, though: they were lowly orphans, waiting to be taken home to forget their past troubles. But by fate, the four girls were adopted by Dr. John Scroll, a shady scientist with big plans but no foundation to work with. His idea is connected to the secret of immortality and animal genes-- he believed that if the genes of animals were attached onto the genes of a human, the human being would be completed. Dr. Scroll had tested his theory on his two sons, Jacob and Jared, and thought to have finally found the answer. He changed the human variable of the equation; female test subjects, four girls of varying ages. Beth, Molly, Charlotte, and Lucy were completely oblivious to the fact that they'd ever been used as test subjects until the day that Beth and Molly crossed paths for the first time in seven years.
After much thought and consideration for the action he had taken, Dr. Scroll realized what he'd done was life-threatening. It had transformed his son Jared into a full-fledged tiger. Now what? His son Jacob had given him the idea: why not turn them into a public asset? (AKA, "super heroes", I mean "heroines" wink A light bulb went off immediately in his head. He tested out their bodies' ability to fight off disease, also mixed with venoms of all different sorts. The result:
Each one became a human-animal hybrid, but harmonious and unfailing, unlike some other experiments conducted in the past. They could control their transformations, and by some strange scientific feat, summon different elements. It was all too odd how everything turned out how Dr. Scroll had planned; until the enemy finally emerged. He had never thought of WHAT his little freak brigade would do, or who they would battle. He didn't even have to create his own radioactive monsters! Someone else already had for him.
Old associate Bella Montgomery teamed up with Dr. Scroll's colleagues who had originally ruled him out as insane and kicked him out of the Immortality Project to create their own experiments that would squash John's chance at fame. Bella was jealous and angry at her decisions beforehand--she'd been his only assistant when he flew solo, but then she left when things wouldn't move forward. She never met any of the girls, but she broke into the lab one night to see it fully functioning, better than it ever had. Bella then knew that her chance to show the doctor her full potential was ripe, and that her hour was getting closer by the second.
Beth, Molly, Charlotte, and Lucy are able to use their ability to summon the elements and animal instincts to battle off the first bout of Montgomery's creations. Every time they are fought, their strength and capacity for strength increase.
Okay that's all I got for now, but I will probably update this post...possibly in a week or two? I know it sounds absurd and everything, but I can't help it. I heart science fiction, and this is a REAAALLY old idea that came from an anime character my friend and I created.
