I can officially say that I'm completely in love with the historic district of Savannah. It's completely walkable, there are little parks scattered throughout the city, and Forsyth Park is absolutely GORGEOUS. In addition, it's nowhere near as crowded as I thought it would be...then again, it was very cold when we went and it's in the off season for tourism, so that's probably not a true statement....but still much less busy than say, NYC, where my sister lives. (I love visiting, but I could NEVER live there)
It's also rumored to be the most haunted city in the US, which you can certainly tell when you visit. The whole area gives off a kind of vibe. Of course, what do you expect when most of the city is built on top of burial grounds (a little creepy, anyone?) I wish we could have stayed to do one of the ghost tours, but they were a little on the pricey side (especially after I treated the parental units to lunch) and they didn't happen until night, and we wanted to be back to the villa before the sun set so that we wouldn't get lost in the dark.
Definitely a place I would like to go back and visit, though. heart
