First of all I would like to say that this may not be entirely accurate. There were a few bits where I couldn't really figure out the translation.
Second of all this mess was done using my VERY limited knowledge of Chinese and a google translator. = w=''
The other side of all this (Huey's opinion of Elmer) can be found here: [x]
The original was written by Ryohgo Narita I'm just translating. Any corrections or advice would be very helpful. I OWN NOTHING.

About Huey Laforet
The pleasant memories of Elmer C. Albatross
Ah, it's been such a long time, but Huey and I first met when I was 15.
At that time he perceived everything with a look of disgust, no matter what the situation was he would always step back as if repelled by some foul stench.
In the beginning I found him to be harsh but as time went on he came to make me laugh.
Huey was, and still is, a good man. However back then the only ones he would talk to were me and our alchemy teacher, but I knew even then that he was a good man. He remains, to this day my very best friend.
Huey would smile often, but it was always fake, his laugh was fake as well; it was very rare for him to smile genuinely. I think I may have been one of the few people to have ever really see his smile.
After that first time I saw him smile, he began to tell me the truth.
"I am going to destroy the whole world. Including you. Once I'm done learning... and when I am done [destroying the world] nothing will remain."
This was the first I heard time Huey speaking honestly. After that he began to learn a lot of difficult, and dangerous information which I believed to be the wrong way of going about things. But I didn't ask any more questions and so he did not go into detail.
I did however say "That would be to bad, then."
Because if you live to see this dream come true then I won't be able to see your smiling face there in the "Happy End".
The thing I want to see most is your "Happy End" Ah, actually whether it's happy or sad I still want to see how things turn out for you in the end.
However after our first little adventure and even after meeting Mister Maiza and what happened then:
"I still want to destroy this world."
He was still saying that, but this time it was with a fake smile and an equally fake laugh. Which I found to be really wonderful.
He never treated people like human beings, always as if he was their superior, and they were things for him to experiment on. I think that's how he survived.
Foolish man.
However I still wish for his happiness. No, because of this I really hope he is happy.
As foolish as he may be I still hope that he can enjoy happiness like everyone else.
