Too much has changed since my first entry (don't look it's embarrassing)
Here's an index of places and names for reference. I will edit this entry as I see fit as things change, I find new places, or I meet new people.
People-
R- Best friend (see profile) His family is somewhat wealthy. He lives with his parents in the historic part of town. His parents are both in the electrician and construction trade. He is working on becoming a director. I occasionally proof-read his scripts and bounce ideas off of him. He seems to have an unusually high opinion of me, considering how many times I've ******** things up for him. He hates the idea of an office job also, and desires artistic and creative freedom. A cold and logical man, almost to a fault. Though he is an extremely intelligent man, he is often naive to behaviors such as love, kindness and manners. He has a habit of being extremely blunt and rude to people, but I respect this kind of honesty. We seem incapable of offending each other. He has been working on parkour and his overly flexibility and has been able to complete increasingly dangerous and exciting endeavors as a result, often forcing me to participate as well, much to my glee. I have traveled with him across the US many times, along with A.
A- A good friend. He comes from a middle class Jewish family in Fresh Meadows, near a movie theatre. Not sure if it's related, but he happens to be obsessed with poorly made blockbuster films. Though I'm on good terms with his family, I have a minor dislike for them, mostly because of how they manage to be both miserly and gluttonous in my eyes. A is more or less immune to this, thankfully. Along with R, we all went to the same school together, though I was mostly only in classes with A as we had the same major. Though we were once close, A has fallen victim to numerous pyramid schemes as of late. Upon criticizing him for his professional choices, he retorts with the fact that he is the only one of us with a regular job (something we all wish to avoid). Thus, my opinion of him has lessened as of late and I have not seem him as much. Though I respect our long-standing friendship and his loyalty to me, I sometimes question whether or not he ever reflects on how his actions affect others.
C- My girlfriend. She is R's sister. She was indoctrinated into my circle a year ago. Eventually we both realized we had feelings for each other, and began getting to know each other in a "different" way.The transition from friend to girlfriend has been difficult, but it gets easier every day. Although I am better friends with R, perhaps I trust C with my feelings more. I am her first, and although it is tough sometimes being the teacher, the pay-out is always very rewarding. Currently teaching her to drive as well. She is the sweetest and most innocent person I have ever met, and it has inspired me to be a nicer myself. Unfortunately, sometimes this innocence is perceived as naivety and she becomes fearful of new experiences. Fortunately for us, she always comes through in the end, and is glad she got to try something new.
L- Perhaps the greatest cook I've ever known. She is R's friend, I am not quite on familiar terms with her yet. After learning she was interested in starting a small business with a food-cart, I decided to abandon my previous business plans and invest in her idea, hoping to snag up her awesome cooking skills before someone else does. Though she comes from a relatively poor and debt-ridden family, she never shows it. She sounds and acts like Bubbles from the Power Puff Girls. She seems to have feelings for R, but unfortunately is quite average looking. Still she is very sweet, and I wish her well. She often throws parties in bars or her own house and caters the events herself.
H- A minor friend of mine. Hate to say it, but he's someone I usually dote on when everyone else is busy. Despite this, I usually have a good time with him. I met him on a trip to Japan and, as it turns out, he lives about 3 blocks from my house. I briefly crushed on his girlfriend of a year until I met C. He is a recovering weaboo, though he has retained his interest in videogames and chiptunes. It's nice to have somebody I can geek-out with, if the mood strikes.
S- Someone I met on Gaia 5-6 years ago. Perhaps the only Gaia friend that I have kept in contact with up to this point. She is fiercely loyal to me, despite my often borderline neglectful attitude towards her. I do enjoy talking to her, though I find her intelligence to be...less than satisfactory sometimes. Despite all this, our friendship remains (at least in my mind) strong. I once went to visit her where she lives, but nothing happened, despite both of us having feelings for each other at the time.
My family- Lame vanilla.
Places-
Blueberry Hunch- A dangerous combination of swamp, forest and field located a few miles from my home. This place had previously been unreachable to me until a man-made pond opened up a path to it. The name Blueberry hunch comes from the time when R and I got lost in it's depths for over an hour. R stated that he had a hunch we'd find wild blueberries in one of the fields...it was just a vibe. Nonetheless the name stuck.
Little Neck Bay- This area borders the historic park of town where R lives. The Atlantic Ocean deposits into this bay. During the day it is a great place to sit and eat lunch, while watching the sunset/sunrise. At night it is a great way to spy the scenic NYC skyline in the distance. The dock is supposedly members only, but for better or worse, the security knows me by my car and/or face. Once, while drunk, I fell into this bay naked and ended up destroying my phone in the process.
Flushing- Korean part of town. Kinda like China Town. Smells like fish and garbage. Extremely crowded. Good place to find Asian food and imported products. Very Hello Kittyish at times. Never really sleeps. Horrible drivers, no parking. Subway depot here. Popular meeting place.
Oasis- The Winchester to the protagonists of Shaun of the Dead would be Oasis to my circle. A dessert bar located on a popular street on the way to city. It is often a desirable hang out spot to us on late nights as it is open till 2am. Despite looking small on the outside, the place contains many different rooms each with a different sort of vibe. Almost everything on the menu is delicious. It makes a great after-date destination.
Mad For Chicken- An up and coming chain that (to my knowledge) must have originated in the Korean part of town. A popular destination for when we are traveling in groups of 5 or more. The chicken is often so spicy that I begin to feel physical pain in my lips, having only beer to wash the pain away. All the while I am being bombarded with Korean pop and techno that sounds increasingly catchy as I drink more.
Roosevelt Field Mall- The largest shopping mall in the state I believe. I had had plans to start up a kiosk here, but have since abandoned these plans. When in doubt, we always find something fun to do in this area, particularly Dave and Busters. C loves when I take her to the tea shop here known as Teavana. The pet store is always a highlight when I visit.
