Home Is Where the Water Lies
Through the mist she walks,
Through the wind she flies,
Through the land and to the docks,
To where the water lies.
In one swift movement,
She is in the sea,
And much to her amusement,
She looks up to see me.
The water splashes,
To blur her vision,
The water crashes,
She makes her decision.
She turns around,
Then back again,
Without a sound,
But it is a sin.
She turns once more,
And looks away,
Her back to the shore,
Without another word to say.
I smiled and waved my hand,
Not a doubt within my mind,
She was not at home on land,
And was going where all were kind.
Through the mist she walks,
Through the wind she flies,
Through the land and to the docks,
To where the water lies.
In one swift movement,
She is in the sea,
And much to her amusement,
She looks up to see me.
The water splashes,
To blur her vision,
The water crashes,
She makes her decision.
She turns around,
Then back again,
Without a sound,
But it is a sin.
She turns once more,
And looks away,
Her back to the shore,
Without another word to say.
I smiled and waved my hand,
Not a doubt within my mind,
She was not at home on land,
And was going where all were kind.
