Act 1: Thrice the cockerel crows

Theodore & Cynthia Aisser
Bend, Oregon
A wolf howls in the night. Theo sits on the porch of the barn house as a chill went down his spine. The steam on his breath mingles with the smoke of his cigarette in the moon light of the frozen night. He scratchs his thick beard before putting his cigarette out on the railing of the porch and going back inside. Cynthia turns in her sleep as Theo returns to the bedroom. He climbs in and Cynthia opens her eyes.
Cynthia: Are you okay?
Theodore turns to her and kisses her head.
Theodore: Yeah. I just have this funny feeling somethings about to happen.

Cyan Aisser
Juno, Alaska
Cyan locks the door to her small house nervously before walking down the path to the street. Her pit bull, Garm, is chained to the porch in the snow. She's shaking and her eyes are filled with fear. She unlocks her car and looks around as if she's looking for someone to be watching her. After she's positive she's alone she gets in the car and starts the engine. Garm wakes up and starts barking. Cyan quickly drives off with a look of terror. Garm pulls at the chain until it breaks and he runs off. Cyan continues to drive through the streets, her breath is heavy and she is close to tears. She pulls up to the front of the city hospital and attempts to collect herself. She exits the car and calmly walks in. At the front desk she is met with a smile from the nurse.
Nurse: Mrs. Aisser. I'll let the guards know you're here.
Cyan: Thank you.
The nurse picks up a phone and dials a few numbers.
Nurse: Mrs. Aisser is here to see her husband.
She hangs up the phone and an orderly comes to the front desk. Without words Cyan avoids eye contact with the orderly and shuffles down the hall with the orderly following close. She made her way to the intensive care wing, passing several guards along the way. She enters a room with guards and a man sleeping on a bed. The orderly nods and the guards inside the room leave. She is alone with the man. The man has an I.V. in his arm connected to a bag labeled Veno-M. Cyan leaned over and kissed the mans head.
Cyan: It's time to wake up Lukey baby.
She disconnects the I.V. From the bag and replaces it with a bag that's identical to the one she removed. She leaves the hospital as the sun begins to rise. A crimson rooster struts in front of her car and crows. Cyan smiles.

Theo open the barn door and starts feeding hay to a black horse with a pitchfork. A golden rooster struts out from the corner of the barn. Theo smiles at the bird.
Theodore: Morning Gullin.
The rooster stretches it's neck and ruffles its feathers. Theo drops the pitchfork.
Theodore: No. No. No. No.
The rooster crows.
Theodore: NO!
Theo runs back to the house screaming.
Theodore: CYNTHIA!!!!
