Cloudy Visions
Chapter 1
Strange Dreams
White... all white... from the sky; where no sun or clouds roll, to the unmoving body of water where I stood still, bewildered. “What? Where am I?” I asked myself. Turning my head from side to side, I gazed upon the strange surrounding that has been laid before my eyes, bizarre yet oddly familiar. “Where am I?” I repeated my self-meant question .Suddenly the water beneath my legs started to move, small waves started to form coming in my direction. I turned, and at that very second, a beautiful girl with sparkling blue eyes and long brown curls appeared before me. She wore a long satin dress and had milk white dove wings. “Who are you?” I asked, she smiled and skipped away from me, I tried to follow her but my legs wouldn’t move, I yelled once more “Who are you?”. She took another five steps, looked back towards me and said “Be careful”. And as soon as she finished the last ‘L’ everything turned black then white again but not the same calm white as before, but blinding light. I opened my eyes and sat up. “That dream again” I whispered. I got up and closed the window of which’s light had woken me and cursed at it. I looked at the long piece of cloth hanging from its frame, it was old and had blue and white squares checkered across it. Then, at the rest of my room, a study table covered with books and out dated newspapers, an old wardrobe, and a gigantic mess on the floor. I let out a long sigh and fell back on my bed. “What the hell’s wrong with me?” I cursed at myself. I tried to sleep again but I couldn’t so I lazed about all morning and got ready for school. I kept thinking about the girl in the dream and for some reason decided to skip breakfast and head to school early. I day dreamed through History, Math, Science and dozed off during English. The recess bell rang; I hardly noticed it until Jack pushed me from behind, almost toppling my entire desk.
“Ooucchhh!” I screamed,
“O, sorry I didn’t know statues had feelings!” he nagged.
“Enough you guys.” Said a sharp voice behind me which I recognized as Tanya.
“Why? This is fun!” exclaimed Jack
“Stop it!”
“Hey it’s not my fault the statue is a sore loser!”
“Am not!” I replied.
Tanya hit both of us hard on the head and dragged us to the cafeteria; Jack started mumbling but didn’t protest. I continued my day dreaming now. Tanya pushed the cafeteria’s huge steel double doors and we went in. Still dragging us, she said hi to May, Karen and Renald sitting at the table, she asked me something but I barely noticed it, then she shouted something to my face; like a curse, still I didn’t quite catch what she said. It seemed like Tanya’s face turned purple and her expression creepy, she lunged and caught me by the collar, forcing me out of my dream world and back into reality.
