In her eyes.
I saw a thousand stars
Illuminated by the pale florescent lights
I saw the oncoming tide
Polluted with the golden particles
That radiated around her pupils
And I began to question whether
Beauty had ever existed before those eyes
I saw the universe
I felt the earth below me in a whole
In an overwhelming feeling
I could bathe in the warmth of the sun
Engulfing me suddenly
Quite unlike times before
In her eyes.
I could hear the sound of my own heart
Beating, not just within my ears
But a sensation that circulated throughout my extremities
No more foreign than blood coursing inside of my veins
I could sense my own being
And remember the future
As if it were as commonplace as my past
I was bequeathed with wisdom far beyond my years
In her eyes.
I could understand love
I disappeared
And yet, resurfaced
I could grasp everything
And yet, nothing
I felt chaos
I felt peace
I became a ghost
I became real
In her eyes.
Just as before
I tore away
Unable to comprehend
Perhaps, I'll never be capable of doing so
Yet, I'll continue to search them
Lost in the cosmos
Lost in my confusion
Simply lost
In her eyes.
